**Sealy girls being ranked is a surprise to me... Even bigger surprise is Navasota being #24. FYI, Navasota returns their entire team minus one or two girls who didn't play much that made it to the Reg III finals in Huntsville.

im surprised to see ff girls so high....and it's not a surprise that abiline is #1...they should be in 4a, but they hide their kids on snapshot day

She was told a week before school started that she would not be coaching. She still works for the district. I'm sure she will land a coaching job next year. Probably 4A or 5A. She is a great coach and really knows her stuff. Lovejoy is going to regret letting her go. I heard through the grapevine that there were parent issues, especially since she played a lot of underclassmen.

A LOT of the parents of younger kids (0-14) were very upset that she was let go. I don't know if they took their grievance to the AD and Superintendent.

True. I just don't see how anyone would rank Smithville Boys basketball ahead of Navasota. The girls are pretty darn good, but, the Smithville boys being ranked in the top 25 puzzles me. Maybe they had a move in or two. IDK, but, we will see.

Congrats to the #11 ranked Yoakum Lady Bulldogs. Team has all starters back from a regional appearance club. Should be another exciting thump thump season for them ladies.

Smithville #21?!?!? thats boys right?? not girls ?? they should be in there, the ladies do bring back alot from a reg. tourny appearance. The boys do bring back 4 starters from a playoff team who got eliminated by a great Cleaveland team. Baseball all so being projected to be ranked, and the football team getting some love from the AP coming in a tie for 15. who says we dont have athletes in Smithville?? lol . IDK whats up but the AP is starting to fall in love and with Smithville as well as coaches poles.
