Wharton is 1-1 in district and coming off a loss to Columbia after beating Sweeny two weeks ago
Needville is 0-1 and was open last week
Even though these schools are not in same county-it's considered a big rivalry
Went to many of these games while working for the Herald Coaster in Rosenber and at the Wharton Journal-Spectator
First went in the early 80s but forgot who were the coaches for both schools back then
Went to one game at Bluejay Stadium and the field was so muddy after a big rain earlier in the day.
Wharton could clinch a playoff spot with a win possibly- The Tigers have an open date on Oct. 28 before playing a Palacios on Nov. 4
