Not ready to move my Apaches to the top when the number one rated team beats another of the top teams in the region by a 50-14 count. Got to give Wimberly credit.

Seriously.... Once again, Wimberley should be first and Columbia second. Fill in the last eight after that. All this homerism is a little unwarranted. I personally beleive both of the afformentioned teams would handle Hondo and Gonzales just fine. Once again, until one of these loses they should stay 1 and 2 respectively. Just one guys thoughts!!

You call this homerism because I vote Gonzales at # 2 over Columbia? Check MaxPreps.com and you will see they have Gonzales rated over Columbia by several points. May be that you are the homer here. Oh no! That couldn't possible could it all knowing mighty one.

What I think he was getting at, was that Gonzales still hasn't beat a team that went deep into the playoffs last year. And both of the region IV champs are still undeated this year and if your team beat them this year than you earned the spot. SH only went made it to the 2nd round and got beat by Navarro 31-0. Navarro got beat bad by Wimberly 40-14. Wish you guys a good run.

Just my opinion but I think Columbia #2 Wimberly #1. I'm pretty sure Gonzales is good but
I know they couldn't beat Columbia. Sorry too much speed. Make it deep in the playoffs and beat
some quality teams and then maybe I will change my mind.

See, that's why 3ADL is good. We can pick who we think is better each week. I was thinking the same as you, but-- in favor of GZ. I know Columbia is dern good, but--GZ has too much "D" for them. If that's "homerism" then we are all guilty. In the end, playoff's will prove us all out.

I think after they rank their own team, they just fill in the blanks from there:)

This is not a scientific poll. It is an opinion poll. I think my opinion is just as good as his or anybody else's on this board and I have just as much right to express it as he does without somebody coming on and criticizing it. This is not the first time he has made the remark about homerism.

Well, I can't say I hate GZ. Dislike once a year though:p

Been a long time since I seen a "D" like they field over there in Gonzo. Today's game, it's all about offense mainly. GZ can do just enough on that side of the ball too. Their "D" creates short fields all night to help that cause be successful.

Too me, Apache safety #21 get's them going with his bone crushing pops on RB's coming up the gut. Fearless hitter. The rest, feed off him and the dominating force get's roll'n from there. They all would assume smack ya then look at ya. If it moves, they hit it. Old school nasty for sure. Fresh of breath air seeing a "D" like this come along.

at one point, WC had the most interceptions in 3a (14 in 5 games) until their oponents stopped throwing (like 10 attempts in the last 3 games combined). They've had 3 shutouts including 1 over LG (who just took navasota to OT On Friday). They lead Wharton 23-0 at half and I think 28-0 at half against 4a Brazosport. They only gave up 9 points to 4a bay city.

Point is, WC has a pretty salty defense too. They're the defending region 4 d1 champs, they're undefeated this year and playing crazy defense. Rank them where you want. I'm just saying....

Hell, the top 3 (GZ,Wim,WC) are good. Period. Anyone one of them deserve a top ranking. And, they are all receiving voters support. Like I said, it will all work itself out before too long.

Trouble I'm having is with Devine and Hondo. Are they for real? Some weak teams in that district.

I am sticking to what I have said all year.

Region IV - Big School
#1 - West Columbia

Region IV - Small School
#1 - Wimberly

They are the reigning champs and still undeafeted. Like Ric Flair said, "to be the man, you must beat the man."

YT .. I saw the Yoakum /Gonzo game.. and agree that Gonzo's defense is good and even scored on an interception return..Went back and got the stats for the game... Gonzo had over 20 first downs and 300 yards rushing... Their Offense also had the ball for over 31 minutes of the game... They are pretty good on both sides of the ball!!!

WC has 15 now, they got one against Wharton and dropped 2-3 more in that game, My question is how many points has WC's defense scored this year?

Hey, don't get me wrong. They are descent on offense. I have seen better offenses this year, but---have not seen a better defense at any level.
