We haven't been posting too much on 3A Volleyball but we will soon be in the playoffs and interest should develope.
In District 31AAA it was West Oso over Lyford and Orange Grove over Corpus Christi Miller both 3-0. It lookes like West Oso will win district and Orange Grove will also make the playoffs. BEWARE OF THE HOWLING BEAR!

In District 30 AAA it was Sinton over Mathis 3-0, Rockport-Fulton over Ingleside 3-0 and Goliad in a surprise over Aransas Pass 3-0.
The district standings after 6 matches and 4 to go are as follows:

1. Sinton at 6-0
2. Rockport-Fulton at 5-1
3. Ingleside at 3-3
4. and 5 tied at 2-4 each are Aransas Pass and Goliad
6. Mathis at 0-4

Sinton plays Ingleside Friday night in Sinton at 4:30 P.M. If Sinton wins they will cinch a playoff spot. It looks like the main battle may be for third place between Ingleside, Aransas Pass and Goliad.

In 4A Ray High School handed Calallen its first district loss in a hard fought 3-2 resulf with the last game being 15-13.

Needville beat Palacios 25-17, 25-9, 25-17 on Tuesday
Think the Lady Jays are undefeated in district play

I think Palacios is 3-2, Since Columbia is 0-5 that means Wharton may have 1 win
I think Sweeny and Palacios play on Friday and Wharton and Columbia meet

Columbus was 5-0 before playing Sealy Tuesday night according to the Colorado County Citizen

Don't know what Bellville's record is but they were open last night

I graduated with their coach Susan Brewer from East Bernard back in 1973

Yoakum is 7-2 in their district

Yeah, Lovejoy. What a powerhouse. I mean, normally Argyle would make it to state for how many years in a row?? We have to go thru Lovejoy to get there. This is LJ's last year in 3A. The girls are happy about that! Good Luck against Lovejoy, Argyle girls. You'll need it.

The Brahmanettes are 7-2 in District 24. They defeated KIPP on Tuesday 10/11. They are open the rest of this week, play @Sealy(10/18) and @Tomball Memorial(10/21) next week, and then close out district at @Royal(10/25) the following week. KIPP and Tomball Memorial are two teams in our district that do not play football.

The Brahmanettes' two district losses were to Columbus. Columbus will likely take the district title.

Susan Brewer is an outstanding coach.

Prosper is pretty good also. It is tough to get out of region II. Argyle and Prosper both gave Lovejoy tougher matches than a lot of 5A schools. Argyle was a little overwhelmed in their first set against Lovejoy, but they bounced back with good defense and took the second two sets down to the wire. Prosper lost 3-1 so they proved Lovejoy can be beat, in a set at least.

A lot of 3A schools are going to be celebrating Lovejoy moving up to 4A, but I bet the 4A schools aren't happy. Lovejoy had over 70 girls try out for the 7th grade team. If that isn't half the 7th graders, then it's close.

I know Bellville has won 9 state titles accoring to the UIL website-1984, 86, 90, 91, 93, 95, 96, 97, 2005
Think they have 12 state tournament appearances

Saw where she picked up her 700th career win in 2008

She was recognized for this UIL awar earlier in the year
The University Interscholastic League, a unit of the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement at The University of Texas at Austin, is proud to recognize 15 of the top UIL sponsors in Texas as the 2010 UIL Sponsor Excellence Award winners.

The winners were selected by a panel of judges in the areas of music, athletics and academics from nominations submitted by school principals and superintendents across the state.

The award, now in its 20th year, was created to identify and recognize outstanding sponsors who enable students to develop and refine their extracurricular talents to the highest degree possible within the educational system.

“The benefits of interscholastic competition and student performance are only possible through the hard work and dedication of sponsors, coaches and directors like these,” said UIL Executive Director Dr. Charles Breithaupt. “On behalf of the UIL, I commend these outstanding educators.”

Each winner will receive $1,000 and a distinctive trophy from the UIL in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the pursuit of educational excellence through interscholastic competition. The University Interscholastic League continually strives to strengthen and promote the role of extracurricular activities in Texas through programs like the UIL Sponsor Excellence Award.
EB coach retired with just over 900 wins

I know a coach from Leon-Jewett had over 1,000 career wins

She didn't play on the East Bernard varsity team only on the junior varsity-At that time she was a better tennis playert
Her mom was the liberian at the school

Her alma mater East Bernard has 12 state championships which is highest in the state among all classes

Saw on one web site that these players are being recruited Sarah Frazier, Kara Musrush and Jessica Horak are being recruited
