Who is the surprise team in your district this year?

District 29

Currently I would say Palacios as a pleasant surprise. On the other hand Needville 0-7:eek:

Throw Aransas Pass in there, 5-1 or 6-1 with a close loss to Mathis.

They needed to win that game. It may be all but over for the Panthers.

Shallowater - 6-0, and NO LOVE! Seminole, which is getting some love beat Brownfield 55-29, Littlefield beat Brownfield 53-10 and Shallowater beat Littlefield 28-14.

I think AP is already out of the district race. They still have to face Rockport-Fulton, Sinton and Ingleside.

I just noticed: This is my 2000th post.

Brownwood, I thought they were supposed to be undefeated and best team ever!

West 0-6 Lost to Hillsboro last week. Not having QB must have really set them back. Last year they started slow and then finished strong. Its not looking that way this year, yet.

1) I would say Pilot Point. 1-5.....I know that the team is rally young, I know that there's not a lot of experience there and I know that they have a very very tough schedule, BUT still. 1-5 is not acceptable in Pilot Point. That may sound cocky, arrogant, whatever you want to call it, that's okay.....but it's a fact.

2) Whitesboro - 5-1, they have 9 returning starters on offense, 10 on defense....they are ROLLING. Their only loss is to Decatur who is 7-0. Opened district with a win over Gainesville. Now all they have to do is beat PP and Aubrey and they are in the playoffs for the first time in school history. This is a town that about 15 years ago stopped down and threw a parade when they won a game....a SINGLE game because they hadn't won in like 4 previous years. If they make the playoffs they may have a riot in western Grayson County.

Agree on both points, DW:

1. Pilotpoint will be back--loads of tradition there.

2. Can't help but pull for Whitesboro. I remember the pre-Henson days in Bridgeport before 93', and how our town "caught fire" when the previously 0-10 Bulls made it 3-deep under Henson in 93'---it is just pure magic. Hope Whitesboro can get some of the same.

score would have been higher but seminole defferd first half kick and 2nd half kick to keep from running score up .

Whitesboro is in our district, and play us Friday. Argyle will get to see what Whitesboro can do first-hand. I'm happy for them, but not this week..Next week, I'll be pulling for them the rest of the season.

Cold Spring lmao. A wimberley guy saying that the team that beat them last year, played for state and returned nearly everyone being good again this year is surprising?

Hard to believe 2 years ago Gonzo was 1-9. I know they went 7-3 last year.Wouldn't they be considered a surprise team at this point?
