All right folks let get this started. Ingleside 6-0 travels to Sinton land to take on the 5-1 pirates. Ingleside is averaging 58 ppg and only giving up 15. Sinton is averaging 27 ppg and only giving up 18. Sinton toughest opponent and only loss (0-28) has been against Hondo who is 6-0. Ingleside's toughest opponent was in Beeville (5-1) in which they won 58-38. I believe Sinton is going to get their points, but I don't think in the end it is going to be enough.

From what I have heard so don't quote me on this. Most of the scoring except for the Beeville game has come on the 2nd string. So this will be a good test again to see what our first string can do. If Sinton scores 35, then Ingleside may very well be into the 50's again.

Sinton has been playing solid defense on the road, they were shutting out West Oso mid way into the 4th qtr, held Robstown to 98 total offensive yards in a shutout and held Rockport to a season low 3 points after going through that 4a schedule and entering Sinton game healthier than they had been before the GP game.

Sinton at home, they've given up some points, turf? nah imo Sinton defensive unit getting use to a different strategy from last year with a different DC.

I pretty sure both teams will get into the playoffs so this is more for bragging rights.

I agree with 991hsmustang. I don't think Sinton can shut down Inglesides offense enough to win this game. Yes Sinton has improved since the 1st game, but so has Ingleside. I think Sinton will keep it close for a half but Ingleside should start pullin away after that. 49-21 Ingleside.

You are right. These boys have improved immensely since last year. Tristan Barrajas at QB has greatly improved. Even if Sinton can slow down the Mchugh twins there are several other receivers that can take up the slack. The Shugart kid is a good receiver and the fastest kid on the team in my opinion. Even with Marquise Barolle out due to injury Austin Barrajas and Jacob Adame are very good in their own right as running backs. They also have good speed. If Sinton comes in with the attitude that all they need to do is shut down the twins they are in for a rude awakening.

Let's talk special teams, shall we? :) In several games Ingleside has elected to go for 2 rather than kick the xp. Does Ingleside not have a kicker or is the attempt being botched in some way or does your coach just like going for 2?

We actually have a very good kicker. He has only missed a couple of times and that was due to a bad snap or hold. In most cases the Mustangs kick the extra point. What I have noticed is that if a penalty is called(on either team) and we have to retry then Coach Hesseltine chooses to go to the 2 point attempt. I do know where to get the stat but I think you will find that the Mustangs normally kick the extra point. Ingleside has scored a lot of TDs so far and a few 2-point tries doesn't seem out of the ordinary.

Sinton has played teams with a combined record of 18-18. Hondo is undefeated, Rio Hondo is 4-2 while OG and Rockport both are at 3-3. Advantage Sinton Pirates.

The Pirates have obviously played much tougher teams and have won some close games. They look to be getting stronger each week.

I think it was in the Oso game that they kept over anticipating the snap on the extra points and the play would be stopped or the kick blocked due to them being offsides. I think they did that 3 times. Coach Hesseltine would then choose to go for 2. It seems a little strange but I'm sure he has his reasons.:confused:

Game most likely should had been 14-14 if Sinton qb and rb had the handoff down in that first game. That first game offensively was almost all runs and not much of attempt to pass the ball some. Defensively Sinton played well in giving up only two legit drives for scores.

Well, I hope that you are not going to parlay those 5 injuries on the sideline into "well if we had so and so we would have won" noise. Inglesde will be playing without Marquise Barrolle, but I don't think it will make a difference. If we are going to win we are going to win. No excuses here. It's going to be a very close game between Sinton and Ingleside. I say sinton by 7. They are very young and do have people out but thats part of the game. The pirates have always fought through adversity and will come out and play no matter who it is. Can't wait to see the result.

Ingleside is much better than OG and they put on some points on the Sinton D. Sorry, but I do not think they are going to be able to cover Ingleside WR's enough to make a bit of difference. Plus Sinton O is very young this year just like Ingleside's O last year. I like the confidence though.

Was kind of suprise Sinton came out man to man and got burned on the first play, after that they played the defensive scheme they did last year and pretty much took away the deep routes and dare them to run the ball against that tough Sinton run defense led by DeRick Castro. Both teams defenses played great, Ingleside secondary much improved from last year made it difficult to pass the ball.

Great game and both teams played their hearts out tonight. Congrats to both teams.

I think what surprised Rockport and Ingleside both was how good Sinton really is. They have improved every week as a TEAM and with a young team will continue to do so. Great game by both teams and there was a lot of class on both sides of the ball. Sinton great job preparing for this battle and playing 4 quarters of smashmouth football.:clap:

If Rockport makes the playoffs ( I think they will) then Sinton and Ingleside will probably be the Division 2 representatives in the playoffs. Maybe a rematch down the road. I don't know about the rest of the Ingleside and Sinton posters but I sure hope this happens.

Nope I would like to see if our coaching staff can get their heads out of their arses by then. That onsides kick call was totally wrong. The difference in that game was the Sinton coaches outcoached Ingleside's coaches.

That is true, but there was the TD pass that the Sinton WR dropped in the end zone. It goes both ways and in the end the Mustangs fell short of stopping Sintons last drive because that is what it came down to.

So if I thought it was coming, I'm sure it might have crossed our coaches mind at some point also.

In no form or fashion was Ingleside about to kick to #20. He had returned numerous kicks for TD's. If you are referring to the last kickoff of the game, it was a pooch fielded by Sinton at their 38 yard line which is exactly what Ingleside wanted. Sinton had to go 62 yards for the final score which they did- give them the credit. I don't see any complaints about Sinton pooching just about every time giving Ingleside good field position and the one time Sinton kicked deep McHugh almost returned it for a TD. Ingleside onside kicked one time with a 14-14 tie and had the ball in their hands only to have it taken away. Sinton did not score on that posession. It is amazing how you go from one week saying good things about our coaches to bad mouthing them the next. I think our fans need to get their heads out and keep supporting these coaches and kids. As far as Ingleside last possesion, do you tell a kid not to score when they are running fro a two back position trying to use clock. You are clueless!
