Since Stafford gave Sealy a good game-Have to go with the Spartans

Royal wins this by 10. They are playing better football now compared to the start of season. They won't give up big plays on trick plays like Sealy did. They already showed everything they got. THey are better than past years but won't matter. Must win for both teams if they want in the playoffs.

I agree. The defense the first half couldn't had played any worse. The second half was a different story. THey gave up 0 points the in the 2nd half. Missed an extra point with a minute and change left that would have tied the game. They outscored them 20-0 second half. I never said they are great, I just think they can sneak into the playoffs with that 3rd spot. New OC, new offense, and alot of new kids playing positions they havent played so it is taking a little more time.

There's a better likelyhood that Wharton beats Columbia than Stafford beating Royal by 30pts!!!!!! What have you seen in Stafford that makes you think they win by that margin. It will be a close game reguardless the outcome.

I can remember when Stafford first started it's program as as Munciipal ISD around 1984-I'm not sure if Dennis Gorka was their first coach or not

I covered the East Bernard-Stafford game in Stafford in either 1985 or 86-I know Mike Treybig was an assistant coach there for a few years

I don't remember how long it's been since Stafford has moved up to 3A

Don't know if they will ever move up to 4A and their enrollment will stay about the same because of the district boundaries around Fort Bend-Guess only students are from the city limits-They had an enrollment of 899 the past realignment period

I covered a few Wharton-Stafford game either in 2008 or 2009.

Stafford's only two playoff appearances came in 1989 when Brian Gorka played on his dad's team and in 2004
I covered Stafford's boys basketball team in Austin when they won state back in 1992 and the beat Groesbeck 73-72 in the final seconds

Boy, hard to pick Stafford....but I'm going with the Spartans. Both teams have played Hempstead, with Stafford fairing much better. Stafford only lost 24-23, Royal was defeated 28-0. Stafford did just play Sealy a competitive game & lost 37-19 to a good Bridge city team. I did read where Stafford struggles with their good junior high players getting "recruited" to play with the Ft. Bend schools.

There has only been one team to blank Stafford and Royal is not near as good as them.

I was told by some Sealy fans that Stafford has good speed, and some big athletic kids.
Also, that Stafford starting run a new offense the week before the Sealy game, maybe more like a spread? Is there a coach at Stafford, or is the same one that was there last year?

They have some good speed and big athletic kids. They should win this game but that's why they play the game. No matter what Stafford did WC's defense has been pretty good. Plus WC scrimmaged Royal and IMO I Just think Stafford has the edge in this game.
