14-7 at the half. Chief just called with the update. He said Dane has thrown 4 interceptions this half. Certainley cant get much worse.

Decatur leads in total yards, Vernon only has about 80 total yars. The 4 INT's and the block punt are the difference so far. Vernon scored of short fields from the punt block and Int. Don't know who got the Int's. Second half should start shortly.

Decatur only has about 150 total yards. Dane with 1 TD and the 4 picks, RB McKinney only has 9yds on 8 carries.

Score now 27 to 14 Vernon, Decatur showed signs of life and got within 21-14 but Vernon then stoped them on 4th down and drove down the field and scored. Vernon sounds like a very physical team. About 5:00 left in game.

Gutsy (and smart) call for the Vernon coach. Alot of people would have punted and played defense, but with the scoring potential of Decatur it was a calculated risk that worked. Congratulations to Vernon. I bet Z-motion is beside himself right now. I guess that Vernon and Sweetwater will get to play their make-up game after all!

Hey folks!

My boy nabbed two picks and racked up a bunch of tackles! Yippie! Man I'm so excited for those boys. This was a great game tonight. Very exciting. Decatur has one heck of a passing offense. But dang for the luck of Decatur those West Texas winds blew in and acted as Vernon's 12 man. Vernon played very well tonight and took advantage of Decatur's mistakes. Vernon lead in teh second quarter and never gave it back. They had a hug drive in the 4th that ran off time and then they punched it in. It looked like Decatur's line was just tired out on that final drive. But Decatur never gave up and then went back down and scored. Then Vernon made 1 first down and ran out the clock.

Vet and all you Ballinger fans will agree that a team that is not real big or real fast or real anything, but that just gets after it, gives it a second effort, makes blocks just a total team effort and not just one player makes a difference. That is what Vernon has.
