Vegas opens it up at +10.5 for the Longhorns. Kind of high considering OU squeaked out a 8 point win last season and Texas is vastly better then this time last year.

I think MB gives them the Jamaal Charles treatment and breaks off his first 50+ yard run of the season on their way to a win.

Texas will keep it interesting in the first half....but inexperience will kill them in this game.

OU: 45
Texas: 24

In terms of Vegas, that's a pretty good number, though I could see it dropping to 9.5. OU deserves to be favored by about 10; even with the 8 pt win last year, that was still last year. Texas is improved, but so is OU. Both teams are undefeated, and though Texas is #11, I fully believe Texas is ranked that high simply to make this week's game seem bigger than it is. I thought #15 would be more appropo, but I'll even admit there's probably some bias behind that. 10.5 pts will make both sides bet pretty evenly, and that's why Vegas sets the line that way.

That being said, I wouldn't touch the line on either side of this game. It's a rivalry game, and that makes it purely a guessing game. If you pick, pick to win, the points won't be a factor here.

It has already dropped to 9. I would take Texas straight up.

This game right now has alot of the feel of the OU vs Texas game in 08 when OU was #1 and had a 14-3 lead till Shipley returned a Ko for a TD...not saying UT wins, but it just has that same feel

Can't wait to what Brian Harsin has in store. I don't think he has revealed his full playbook yet and has been saving things for this game. I think he could steal that play from Garrett and have Shipley fake the sweep and reverse it back and be wide open because the CB is tracking him across the middle.

I agree. I think 11 is a bit high.

I have a feeling they're not going to have the same success with 'trick plays' against a Stoops defense. I can't imagine him letting that happen again.

Landry Jones throws 2 picks 1 going for a TD.....he won't know what to do with all the pressure he will be faced with.

lets not forget that the oddsmakers are really good at their jobs. Their job is to get action on the game. They know that if they set the line a little high then they will get more action.

They also know that Texas fans will bet and there are more horns fans than sooner fans I would think.

I just hope that the game is good.

I don't think Texas can win, but I think it will be closer than everyone expects. Texas' defense is pretty good especially the front 7. ALSO Don't forget that this isn't the first time Bryan Harsin has seen OU and maybe a Hook and Ladder, HB Pass, or Statue of Liberty may be used to make the Sooners look silly again.

It's not like he can call an anti-trick play defense. I could very well see the hook and ladder work again. How awesome would it be if Texas got their game winning touchdown on that?

I know it's unlikely to happen though.

Okay, so which is it?

The Boise State style offense may have OU on their heels a bit in the first half, but just like Iowa State they will eventually settle down and get some stops....and OU has a better defense than IS, UCLA and BYU. OU takes this one, but it may be a close game that comes down to a field goal.

6 weeks ago I would have easily said OU would be heavily favored, not a chance for Texas. duh No one on the outside knew how this group would be.

Now that we've all been exposed to Texas 2011, this game can go either way with a momentum shift here or there and usually does from the history of this match up. Very impressive to watch such a young group of players excell at such a level in which they have. Longhorns have the talent to upset the kings of choke again and I think they will.

HOOK 'EM!

If OU starts the way they did against Mizzou, I think Texas just might have it in them to pull off the W. Texas 31, OU 27

no poll? come on

This forces people to at least post their thoughts. Except for the guy who will pick OU in a blowout because it's the easy choice and give no thoughts on why.

I'm big, big Longhorn fan-But in reality- the Sooners will win by at least two touchdowns

All that know me here know I am an Auburn fan (much more than a t-shirt fan) and a SEC fan. My honest opinion after watching OU and UT is that OU is the better team, and should take this game. It is a rival , so all bets are off. OU has the experience, UT is a a young team. IMO UT will be a power house within the next 2 years. Not now. They have a great balance and FINALLY a running game that they have not had since what? Cedric? Just to add a little fire Auburn>UT....Flame away!

Hate to say it, but I think OU wins this year, for the last time in next 3 years! Should be a really good game, but could turn out to be determined by turnovers. OU by 6.

You need to do better research. OU opened as a 10-1/2 point favorite, not tu. Currently, OU is -10 at Caesars, -9-1/2 at Mirage, and -9-1/2 at Station casinos. With that said, I agree there is no way I bet this game, especially this year.

Really? REALLY? REALLY?. Texas being +10.5 is the same thing as OU being -10.5.

tu. Cute.

The Longhorns defense has played great defense-a lot better than last year-I don't think it will be a high scoring game-If OU scores 28 points I will be surprised
