Will Brownwood have their QB and other starters back? Any thoughts on this one?

Too early to speculate, and Coach Shipley plays his cards pretty close to his chest, I think we will be alright with a 2 td win barring any other significant injuries. Darn bug is biting hard this year, but then, we just bow up and bite back! Time for some young kids to step up!

If we have four unforced turnovers for them this week we may find out if they can beat us.

They haven't played anyone with a losing record I don't think.

Saw them against Monahans. I bet they didn't have a drive over 25 yards until all the backups came in. On defense they have a very good player named Papajohn.

He was also their best pitcher last year. I'd guess he's about the same size as y'alls Crow who is a pretty good pitcher as well.

We just can't give the ball away! Take away the mistakes, and correct some blocking errors, offense will be ok!

BWD folks--just make sure and get there early enough to eat @ Al's and Sons BBQ on Gregg (Hwy 87 next to HEB)... great food.

I don't remember the kid's name but I remember a playoff game from (I believe) 99 in Abilene when a kicker from Brownwood won the game with a last second field goal ... believe that was in the Deacon Burns days. Don't think this one will be that close ... just thought I'd share a Brownwood-Big Spring memory ...

I actually watched some of that game on the archives online this summer. I was there live as well. It was in San Angelo, they had a very good runningback that year. I believe you are right that it was in 99.

Maybe it was the Weatherford game that was in Abilene ... both were great games

Weatherford was the very next week in Abilene and we lost 49-42. We were inside their 1 yard line with no timeouts and could not get the snap off in time. A couple of plays earlier we had caught what we thought was a TD in the endzone but the receiver was ruled out of bounds.

I'm assuming Stephens will play this week, but even without him surely Brownwood will win by a bunch. Poor Big Spring has not had a friendly welcome since they dropped to 3A.

I was standing on the goaline taking pictures of that game ... it was a great catch and even better tackle to keep the receiver (Nick Rhodes?) from stretching for the touchdown.

Looks like there could be rain in Big Spring Friday night, that could put a whole new twist on this game. Turnovers have not been our friend this year, hope things are looking up tomorrow. GO BROWNWOOD!

Dont think I've been to Big Springs field before but I just heard Dallas Huston say he was there for a playoff game between Brownwood and Monahans in 1969 and nothing had changed. :):)
