"District of Doom" - 16-3A
1) Henderson (probably)
2) Gilmer (could possibly pull the upset of Henderson at home)
3) Carthage (could upset one of the top two)
4) Gladewater (a good team that could probably win 60% of the other districts in the state)
5) Pittsburg (same as above, they just happen to be in a tough district)
6) Spring Hill (a team not to be taken lightly, or they will beat you; they just don't have the athletes the other schools in the district have but are very disciplined)

Let the sparks fly....:DI wish I could agree with you... and a couple weeks ago I would have. Wylie is suffering from too many injuries on the off and def lines. I can see us finishing 3rd... and better not take that for granted as Sweetwater is much improved.

D23-
In the final week of the season, Navasota plays @ Giddings. IMO, this will be for the district championship. With that said, Navasota is the largest school, so no matter what happens and as long as the Rattlers qualify for the playoffs, Rattler Nation will be the D1 representative.
My Prediction:
1. Navasota (Div I Rep and District Champion)
2. Giddings ( Runner Up and Div II Rep)
3. Rockdale (Div II Rep)
I know that I have Smithville ranked in Div III's top 10, but, we have all seen Smithville play really well and then fall off towards district play. The Smithville Tigers have gotten the wins, but, their opponents, with the exception of Lexington, have not played good football thus far. On the other hand, Navasota, Rockdale, and Giddings have all been in this position before. If La Grange can get their offense rolling, they too will push for the final playoff spot.
Rockdale's District schedule an my prediction: 3-2
07-Oct @Navasota* (L)
14-Oct Smithville* (W)
21-Oct @La Grange* (W)
28-Oct Giddings* (L)
04-Nov @Caldwell* (W)
Smithville's District schedule and my prediction: 2-3
07-Oct Caldwell* (W)
14-Oct @Rockdale* (L)
21-Oct Giddings* (L)
28-Oct @Navasota* (L)
04-Nov La Grange* (W)
La Grange's District schedule and my prediction: 1-4
07-Oct Giddings* (L)
14-Oct @Navasota* (L)
21-Oct Rockdale* (L)
28-Oct Caldwell* (W)
04-Nov @Smithville* (L)

Great post HEMO, 'cept I believe Giddings will stampede the Rattlers this year...:1popcorn:
I agree, a very pivotal game will be Oct 14th, Smithville @ Rockdale. Could very well decide who gets the 3rd spot.

I agree with your top 3 in that order but disagree with you saying Gladewater could probably win 60% of the other districts in the state.
Can't see anyone getting shut up by Wills Point being a district champ...

1 Henderson ( playing right where they left off Back to back
2. Gilmer playing just as well and would be the favorite to beat henderson but it probaly won't
3. Carthage playing good but not great and will be hard to beat
4 Pitt
4 Gladewater tie between them and pretty sure would make the playoffs in other district their victory might be feb
5. Spring hill good enough to upset them if over look but not good enough to win

The UIL Wiki page states the following:
In AAA only the top three teams in each district are eligible for the playoffs. The team with the highest student enrollment for its district is seeded in the Division I playoff bracket, and the remaining two teams (with the lower enrollment) are seeded in the Division II playoff bracket.
My question is the "enrollment" number based on the last U.I.L. re-alignment or "current" enrollment numbers?

As patently unfair as it is, the numbers used this year are from Oct 2009. For your district, District 12- 3A, enrollment numbers are as follows:
Lovejoy- 946
Prosper- 870
Princeton- 797
Lone Star- 719.5 (never really understood the .5 student)
Community- 464
Farmersville- 438
Pendragon13
10-04-2011, 08:33 PM
District 5-3A:
Abilene Wylie- D1 DC
Brownwood- D2 RU
Snyder-D2
That's most likely how it will be as far as playoff berths...but don't count Sweetwater out for a D2 spot just yet. As for the district champion, Snyder still has to be the favorite..but that could be a wide open race as well. This could be one of those "co-champion" years with everyone but Big Spring contending for the crown..

These are the 11-3A numbers I had about 2 weeks ago.
Prosper = 1260.5 (I don't get the .5 either)
Lovejoy = 1109
Frisco Lonestar = 830
Princeton = 879
Farmersville = 444
I'll come back to this thread and make my not so bold prediction after Friday's district games. Prosper vs. Lovejoy and Princeton vs. Lonestar will pretty much set the order 1, 2 and 3. Since they go by the 2009 number Lovejoy looks to be the D1 school with Prosper and its 1260.5 students in D2.
Go Leopards!!!
