Jasper VS Nacogdoches

Just found this website with some good, up-to-date info on the Nac team. Nac football site (http://www.geocities.com/Jbe_1999/1stpage.htm)

Looks like they gave Lufkin all they could muster in the 1st half last week. Sounds like the wheels started coming off in the 3rd quarter, though. From what I read, that is where they started making their mistakes in their previous game too. The way we've been playing in the 2nd half, that should be advantageous to us. Go dogs!!

I don't see how a team can make such a drastic turnaround in just one year. Last year Nacogdoches would have been beaten by 80% of 3A schools. I just don't see Nac giving Jasper that much of a problem, but who knows.

At this point last year, Jasper had one shut out and had only given up 12 points. This year, they have given up 52 in 2 games. I do not see them shutting out Nacogdoches. Nac has played two of the toughest teams in the state of Texas. I do not put Jasper in the same category as them. I think the Bulldogs may get surprised with their seemingly overconfident attitude.

I agree Comp. Nac. has played some serious football the past two weeks and Jasper does get very overconfident in a hurry. this week will be interesting.

Do you guys think that the team is overconfident or just some of the posters? Try not to confuse what people say on this board with the attitude of the team. I think the dawgs have got a little dose of humility this year. I doubt that they'll be overconfident. They may loose, but I don't think it will be due to overconfidence.

I have seen Jasper teams in the recent past get over confident. I am basing my comments on that. Maybe that is unfair because this is almost an entirely new team. We will just have to wait and see. Good Luck
