BURNET @ Gatesville

Burnet now (2-2) traveling to Gatesville (3-1)..Burnet won last year 33-22.
Dawgs are still a work in progress although they played well against Bandera the special teams are in need of some serious fixing last year Burnet gave up 1 KO return for a td all year long this year we have already given up 2 and if not for some shoe string tackles it could be well over 5. Who ya got?

I havent seen Burnet yet this year. I watched the Brownwood/Gatesville game. Gatesville had a nice little stretch against us just before half. However, the DC made adjustments at the half and we shut them down. I think Burnet could easily win this game.

I watched some of their game vs Glen Rose & all the Brownwood game, they get after the ball on defense but not very consistent on offense. The Qb is not very accurate but can scramble, #22,21,24 are pretty quick they should try to run more behind #79 he's a big one! :eek:
The defense plays good in spurts but I believe Burnet's run game will do good against Gatesvilles' defense they are small at the LB/DB position, aslong as Burnet pounds it early to set up the pass we should come out on top in this game. Not sure by how much Burnet wins by until I hear back more about some the injuries we had against Bandera.

Our QB got hurt in the Bandera game and he looks to be day to day, a couple of other players were hurt last week also but I saw them practicing, they looked fine. I watched the last hour of practice yesterday and I have to say the junior #12 looked real good. If #15 plays Friday I'll take Burnet in a close game 27-24 but if #12 plays give me Burnet by 2tds.

That would change the way Gatesville has to prepare for them thats for sure. Speed at QB would make a big difference in how the defense has to play. Dont see it happening , guess we will see Friday night!

I agree but not only that, #12 is little more accurate than #15 and the passing game would finally come into play as well.

Greendawg, I think it was #88 and I don't see him on any of the game films they have a #24 he looks to be pretty fast but they hardly ever throw his way.

7th and 8th grade have very low numbers last night , not saying that carries over to varsity but not many kiddo's out for ball.

Things I do know about them , they always have a lot of speed and some big ole country boy lineman , so tell them Dawgs they had better not take them lightly. They remind me of Fred , they always have
a bunch of fast kids , dont know why , must be all that clean country living.
