After Celina's loss, Decatur's got the longest winning streak in Texas Football. To show just how long of a streak Celina held, Celina's 68-game winning streak is now replaced by Decatur's 13 straight wins. That's over 5 times as many games! So do you think that streak will ever be broken? Why?

All records eventually get broken. Nobody thought that the homerun record would ever be broken, and look, just a few years later it was. Still, hats off to Celina

Didn't Southlake Carrol have the record before Celina and I was thinking it was around 60 games?

Here's the List:

68 - Celina 1998-2002
49 - Abilene 1954-57
44 - Cuero 1973-75
41 - Hull-Daisetta 1936-39
35 - Sealy 1994-96
35 - Austin Reagan 1967-69
35 - Stamford 1954-57

The old record had lasted 44 years before Celina broke it.

Well, it will be at least 4 more seasons before anyone has a chance to break the record..........a long time.

Carroll had a 72 regular season game winning streak. Also, over three seasons, they were never defeated by points: In 91', they lost to Burnet in the Semifinals by penetrations, and then they were 16-0 state champions the next two seasons. Working from my memory, I believe there regular season streak ended in 94' when they went up to 4A...but it was actually ended by a 3A team: Gainsville. It looked like Gainsville could have been a spoiler again this year, but Celina pulled it out.

Celina also broke the record for consecutive playoff wins this year. They won 25 in a row. Old record was Sealy at 24.

Hey One I think Keith talked so much crap earlier in the year that he is still trying to digest all that crow he had to swallow.
