View Full Version : Ingleside @ West Oso

I like what the Mustangs are doing offensively and defensively. Spreading the ball around to all WR's available and working the running game into the mix. At this point in the season it looks like the Mustangs offense is where it needs to be to be a real contender. Defensively, it looks like the Mustangs still need to work on shutting down the run. With the abundant speed, pass coverage has not been a problem. West Oso has faced some tough opponents already and this week is going to be no different for them in that aspect.

West Oso has some size and some speed, it won't be long before they're much improved. I most likely going to game, just few miles away.

thier running back came in having 2 200+ rushing games. Sinton held him to 35 yds.

Well then I hope they run all night against Ingleside because it will serve the Mustangs well in preparing for future teams with some speed.

You might be right. The backups have been getting some quaility time and from what I have heard depth is not as big of a problem this year as in the several years past.

Inglesides run defense will be fine they won the battle in the trenches in the Beeville game it was the big plays that Beeville was getting off that kept them in that game, Ingleside was in their back field all night. there's no dout that west oso will have speed I'm just curious to see how the Mustangs speed matches up.

I think jr RB Marquis Barrolle could have another huge night and if you've never had a chance to see this kid play your missing out. he is fun to watch and put on a good show in-front of a packed house last friday.

I listened to the game, but didn't hear the announcers talk about the Mustang defense being in the back field all night. They did however comment on how explosive Ingleside's offense was.

The Mustangs shouldn't have a problem but some times these kids get the big head and blow one. That happened to Rockport-Fulton this past week against G-P. Coach Hesseltine needs to keep the Mustangs ready no matter who we are playing. He also needs to teach the defense how to play against the counter trap. Beeville burned our butts a bunch with that play.

I talked to a R-F fan this morning. He said the Pirates thought it would be an easy one but did not play well at all and G-P came to play. He said G-P stuck it to them. R-F has Calhoun(Port Lavaca) this week. That will be their second loss.

That was their mistake in taking that game lightly. I hope Hesseltine can keep those kids grounded and not let some of these blow outs go to there head.

I know your question is to MustangFootball but I'm going to respond to it.

I thought they did. Beeville had 2 running backs that were hard to catch once they broke it loose. I bet the Mustangs have spent a lot of time this week on how to defend against a counter play. Beeville had some very long runs and most were off the counter play. Once their backs got into the defensive backfield it was off to the races. A huge Beeville offensive line made a big difference too. I can't remember the Mustangs ever playing anyone with a line that big.

I remember when Ingleside made it to the Semi's in 06 I believe, Robinson had a pretty big Offensive line and so has Cuero the last couple of seasons.

yeah 99, they had a couple of guys that were pretty fast...i think #15 was one who got into the secondary and broke off some huge runs and like M69 stated earlier they had a pretty big line, but as a team Ingleside was faster and more athletic...but Beeville was as advertise big, strong with some speed, a very good team.

The team from Robinson was bigger than the line from Beeville. #78 & #88 from Beeville were big but that unit Robinson had was big. I would even say the Cuero unit from 05 was better.

Anyone got details on the game? Was Oso consuming clock? Ingleside having trouble moving the ball in the First half?it was 33-12 when i got there at the end of 3rd qtr, Ingleside had a big 3rd qtr to put this one away. Ingleside had a late td to get to 40 points other than that wasn't muich action in the 4th qtr. There was a long pass to #33 David McHugh that he almost made a diving catch on, got up holding his hand though.

Ingleside qb can throw it deep pretty good and on the run. Ingleside line did a good in the 4th qtr i saw them in opening up running lanes for Barrolle.

Mustang football or Mustang69 should have better details on the rest of the game.

Ingleside came out a little flat last night in the first half, I was a little concerned on how Ingleside would match up with the speed of the bears...for the most part, the speed was about the same, Oso might have had a slight edge but no a big difference.....the Mustangs made the half-time adjustments and came out and took care of business in the second half....

on another note Marquis Barrolle took some hard hits last night and still put on a show....so much so that he earned play of the night for the second week in a row on Chanel 3 sports blitz....he was also player of the week on Chanel 6 last week and earlier this week he was caller times offensive player of the week.

congrats Mustangs 4-0:2thumbsup
