I like this matchup. A good test for both teams as Beeville looks to have the size up front. Not sure how much speed they have or if it matches that of Ingleside, but I expect some hard hitting to be going on. Ingleside is averaging 60 points offensively and only giving up an average of 12. Beeville is averaging 43 points offensively and holding opponents to 11. I believe Ingleside has what it takes to come out on top. :2thumbsup

I believe this is Ingleside first true big test as it will be for Beeville as well...Ingleside has good speed on both sides of the ball and decent size, Beeville will have its work cut out trying to slow down Inglesides quick strike offense while Ingleside will have its hands full trying to slow down Beeville power running game.

Beeville's lack of team speed will be its Achilles heel throughout the season on defense. Offensively, things have been clicking really well and that's after improvising a bit due to injuries. The goal will definitely be to keep Ingleside's defense on the field as long as possible.

Does Beeville have a leading rusher or do they split carries with running backs? What does there passing game look like?

Beeville has one back with over 400 yards (halfback)and another very close to 400 (fullback). The two tailbacks have split carries but have decent speed and are pretty slippery. QB, Holder, has about 150 yards rushing and has thrown for 5 TDs. They won't win throwing the ball, but they can definitely use it to punish teams trying to crowd the box.

I would say that Ingleside has a pretty elusive and hard running RB in Marquis Barolle. Ingleside can stay balanced if necessary, but the passing game has been primarily used.

I threw this together just to show how well the offense has been playing.

QB Tristen Barajas who can run and throw. Marquis Barrolle who doubles as a WR/RB and is fun to watch. Very hard runner, elusive and despite his size tough to bring down. WR’s of course David & Matt McHugh, but look to see good things from Skylar Shugart and Austin Barajas. Here are some stats (From Corpus Christi Caller Times):

Tristen Barajas Comp: 22 Att: 35 Pct: 0.629 YDS: 550 AVG:15.7 TD: 10 INT:0
(Running) Marquis Barrolle Att: 28 YDS:165 AVG:5.9 TD:1
(Receiving) Marquis Barrolle REC: 4 YDS:84 AVG: 21 TD: 4
David McHugh REC: 8 YDS: 191 AVG: 23.9 TD:5
Matt McHugh REC: 3 YDS: 66 AVG: 22 TD: 1
Skylar Shugart REC: 3 YDS: 102 AVG: 34 TD: 1
Austin Barajas REC: 2 YDS: 47 AVG: 23.5 TD: 1

Now you might say well Skylar and Austin haven’t had many receptions and neither has Matt, but at half time against Zapata the score was 50-0 and at the half against TM the Score was 37-7 so I am sure that the coach wasn’t looking to pad the stats as the game was out of hand already. I wasn’t either one of them so I don’t know when the subs were put in, but I would like to say more than likely in the 3rd and 4th qtrs. in both games. I believe Ingleside was expected to win both games, but they did that and more.. much more. I expect Beeville to be a great challenge and win or lose the Mustangs will greatly benefit from this game.

If Beeville does not have a very good pass defense they are in trouble. Ingleside's pass offense will eat them up. If Coach Hesseltine will run Barolle outside of the tackles Beeville will have a tough time containing him.

This will be the first real test for Ingleside's defense. They are very capable of defending against the pass. The question in my mind is will the Mustangs be able to defend against the run. The defensive lineman are very quick and may do well. I think Beeville's strong point is their running game.

This could be a very high scoring game. I think the Mustangs will score at least 30 points. I hope that will be enough. I don't see Ingleside holding Beeville to 1 or 2 touchdowns.

From what Blasterdom has said is that the Beeville's D does not have too much speed, but then again he could be just humble and not giving too man suprises away.

If he is telling the truth then Beeville better be able to score a lot of points if they want to have a chance. Ingleside's speed will eat a slow defense up.

This is from the Corpus Christi Caller Times and was a pretty good read about the upcoming game.

CORPUS CHRISTI — Ingleside is on a roll.

After being idle the opening week of the season, the Mustangs flattened their first two opponents by a combined score of 120-24. So far, the offense is averaging 423 yards per game, with 65 percent of the production coming through the air.

With a defense that has allowed only 320 total yards to both winless Tuloso-Midway and 1-2 Zapata, there's one question eighth-year Ingleside coach Graig Hesseltine has been hearing more than others.

"Are we just that good or are our opponents just average teams?" Hesseltine said. "I think we're pretty good right now."

Hesseltine and the Mustangs (2-0 overall) expect to find out for sure when they host an upstart Beeville team tonight in a showdown between two of the area's undefeated squads.

The Trojans enter tonight at 3-0 and with plenty of momentum after dispatching winless Kingsville, 1-2 West Oso and winless Ray by an average score of 43-11. That includes a 35-0 win over the Bears — Beeville's first shutout since a first-round playoff victory over San Antonio McCollum 2006.

"There have been a lot of positive things happening to us," said third-year coach Troy Moses, whose team went 3-7 in each of his first two seasons. "The kids are responding and we've built a lot of momentum. We'll go as far as it takes us."

Unlike Ingleside, the Trojans are doing most of their damage on the ground.

As a team, Beeville has rushed for 1,109 yards, which accounts for 85 percent of the total offense. Frankie Gutierrez has rushed for 414 yards and six touchdowns, while fellow ball carrier Ryan Rangel has rushed for 312 yards and four scores.

Quarterback Brooks Holder has added 167 yards and a touchdown and running back Eric Rosales another 133 yards and two scores. Holder hasn't had to pass much, but has been efficient in completing 8 of 13 pass attempts for 193 yards and four touchdowns.

Those numbers present a concern for any team, including Ingleside.

"They have our attention," Hesseltine said. "They're a really good team, probably the best offensive team we have faced to this point. They execute what they do very well. They may present problems for us because they're pretty big up front. We have to make them resort to throwing the ball. That's something they probably don't want to have to do. If we force them to do that we might have some success."

For the Mustangs, success starts in the air.

Quarterback Tristen Barajas has passed for 550 yards and 10 touchdowns — five in each game — with no interceptions. He's carried the ball only three times, but that isn't necessary with the receivers he has at his disposal.

David McHugh leads the bunch with eight catches for 191 yards and five touchdowns, while Skylar Shugart has three receptions for 102 yards and score. Running back Marquis Barrolle has rushed for 165 yards and four touchdowns, but also has contributed to the passing assault with four catches for 84 yards and a score. Matt McHugh, David's twin brother, has six catches for 66 yards and a touchdown.

With massive first quarter leads of 36-0 against both Tuloso-Midway and Zapata, Ingleside has been able to give most of its backups plenty of playing time.

"We're playing pretty well," Hesseltine said. "We've been getting pretty much everybody else into the ballgames, guys that we need to take a look at that down the road will have to help us out. We like where we're at, but we're still practicing hard and trying to correct the little mistakes. That's always the case, but you're never going to fix everything."

Marquise is just great to watch. For a small running back(5'6" 175 lbs) he is very hard to catch and bring down. The best part is that he is just a junior.

Even more fun to watch is his mother in the stands. She is a tiny lady but a very avid fan. She had to be totally exhausted after Marquise's performance against Beeville.

I just noticed that I misspelled his first name and I haven't gotten to see him this year. Last year he was impressive so I bet he has improved.

Here is a pretty cool kick return play for a TD from Matt McHugh to his twin brother David McHugh during the Beeville game.

Haha, I liked the broadcaster emphasizing it wasn't a planned play. It may not have been planned, but the way #33 got back behind #11 in terms of yard position on the field instead of moving up to block for him, you can tell it was something they've practiced. It sure was an exciting play. Just wish it would have been Beeville that did it! :D I also liked when 33 dodged a low tackle on that 2 point conversion and jumped like 10 feet in the air and into the end zone. Those are some athletic dudes.

One of Ingleside's coaches said they do not practice that play but the boys had talked about doing it on the sidelines.
I to was amazed how high David McHugh(33) jumped in the air on that conversion.
