I hope it was enough since their track star is coming back. I know he will still get playing time but I wonder if he PT will be reduced.

He might lose his return duties eventually, but Goodwin has been away from the game for a while.Jaxon and Quandre Diggs are the punt returners, Jaxon's sure hands pretty much lock up PR duties, Diggs would probably be the one taken off PR duties, Goodwin however; will probably lock up kick off return duties, as Jaxon isn't on kick off returns.

Jaxon will be fine vs BYU as long as he stays away from those 3 monster Samoan dudes they got on defense! Holy crap! I can't even imagine getting stepped on by one of them!

We were at the game and I got a few cool snapshots including Jaxon's TD's. They are posted on my son's Facebook Athlete page that can be found here...

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jake-Raulerson-Class-of-2013-Offensive-Tackle/161999807194719

This page is were we keep all Jake's recruiting articles and pictures etc. Look for the pics titled UT v. Rice Unofficial Visit. We also took pics on Sunday at the TAMU v. SMU game.

Select "like" on the page if you would like to follow his recruiting process.

(PS. I am replacing the pics with low resolution so that they load faster. My Bad on the FB upload process.)

Marquise has been an average to below average receiver for Texas....I mean he has the potential to be good but he hasn't proved it yet. He tailed off last season and had drops. He is a badass in track and everything and I think a lot of Texas fans and think/want that same badassness to translate onto the football field but it doesn't. Plus being 5'8-5'9 hurts him IMO.

They are still college corners who are probably 2-3 years older and more developed then him. He did pretty good for his first ever college game and completely stole the ball away from the defender on his touchdown.

Are you saying we think Shipley is their best receiver right now? That last sentence is incomprehensible.

The two main reasons Jaxon is able to do what he does is because he is truly a gifted WR and he has Maroon Blood.

My only chance to see him live was our 09 playoff game. Yes, we won that game but you could tell he was special and if BW had a more accurate QB that day the results would have been different. He was open way more times than not.

Please, Jaxon is a Bob Shipley product. Saw him play in 7th-8th grade. He was hurt his Jr year, so he was on the sidelines when LH played them. Kid has talent. He is the REAL deal and would be where he is at wherever he played. Brownwood reaped the final 2 years, but cant claim him as homegrown

Just Brownwood Haters trying to stir up crap!

Jaxon is the real deal, and he will be playing on Saturdays and Sundays if that is where he wants to go! Please keep him healthy and Texas fans are in for a treat, kid just has natural ability and is very fast.

I do think the QB talents of Graylon Brown did aid Jaxon a lot, kinda hard to throw the ball to yourself, at least you won't get much yardage.

Totally agree. It's very possible that we will enjoy almost 2 decades of Jaxon Shipley in total, and I'll say it right now....he has the possibility of being ranked amongst the best to ever play the game, if only a few more things fall in line for him (training, health, teams). He has the talent at this point, no doubt.

One thing I noticed about Jaxon is how he never took a lot of hits in high school, just to shifty to get a solid hit on. I know college is a different game but I think you will see him avoid a lot of hits at the next level also. Seen him catch a punt at Wylie with two guys right on top of him and he never got touched, ran it back for a TD.

Can catch just about anything in his reach! Did you see the 2 catches in the second half. Kid continues to blow me away. Well beyond average collegiate receiver already. McCoy added his ability to play QB in only the second game. My projection of McCoy being the QB by the 4th game is looking more promising.
