This should be a good game. I'll take LH based on their scrimmage against LG. LH by 14.

I will take LH, The D is tuff, O should have scored a few more TDs against Cuero, they need to deal with the flags, a ton of em and usually in the redzone. The Offense held the ball better this week (not fumbling like against Rouse) but lots of flags, if they work that out they should do fine.

I'll take LH as well but they will need to do better with respect to penalties and fumbles. QB played defense and special teams last season and is new to the QB role at the varsity level. He is a good athlete that will get more comfortable with the offense and gain confidence in the weeks ahead.

Give me the Hill by 7 , this should be a good test for sure.

My turn...all you ladies. :p

I'm certainly no expert by any means, but I have watched a LOT of football, especially the LH variety. I think our team is beginning to realize their potential. They play together very well and play hard from start to finish. They don't know "quit". They might not be the biggest bunch, or the fastest, or most talented, but a lot of times, teamwork can overcome a lot!

Penalties have to be lessened though! I'm sure they have been working on that! Execution, follow through, TEAM and KISS - LH football at it's finest!

Now...what about those baby blue uniforms? :taunt:

LHPM, tell me more about the team. Is it senior-heavy? Young bunch? I assume there is no change (for the most part) in the offensive game plans? What about the D?

Plenty of seniors (15 or so and mostly in key spots), like LHPM said, they play hard and dont quit. QB doing great job with hand offs, carrying out the fake, and making folks loose track of the ball.

The first game RB fumbles and penalties killed em, D did all you could ask against Rouse minus a few breakdowns. Against Cuero, they solved the RB's fumbling, however, penalties murdered several sustained drives, D was outstanding.

Basically, the offense has the potential to be good and the D could be lights out fantastic, LH will need to face a high scoring offense to be certain though.

Time will tell.

LHPM could tell you much more, this is just my observation from the first two games.

Hey Rabid, Do you know anything about the CS 7th grade A team? My son is playing them thursday and I was curious how they are looking.

Should be a good game. Seems like something happened to these 2 schools back around 2007 and 2008 that stymied them.:taunt:

That's pretty spot-on, if you ask me. I'm pretty biased, but I try to keep my "mom" speak to a minimum. ;)

I am not sure who your talking about. China Spring was anything but stymied in 2007... You were holding your collective breath until 2:17 left in the forth quarter.

Yes, 13 to 12 China Spring. LH scored with about 20 seconds to go and went for 2 and did not make it.

Great game.

Go Cougars!

Missed two chip shot field goals. Was in the red-zone 3 times and came away with nothing. Could have easily been a blown out....but missed opportunities. Cougar defense was oustanding!!!

Easily been a blow out? Did we watch the same game?

Let's "go there".

CS:
Passing yards - 199
Rushing yards - 82
TOTAL - 281 yards = 1 TD, 1 xpt, 1 missed xpt & 2 missed FG's
Defense - 1 fumble returned for TD = 1 TD

LH:
Passing yards - 28
Rushing yards - 303
TOTAL - 331 = 2 TD's, 1 xpt and 1 failed 2-pt conversion
Defense - 1 interception TD called back

Please explain "could have easily been a blow out".

I was at the game. Wouldn't exactly agree with the "blow out" comment. It should not have come down to a missed two point conversion but not a blow out.

That one pass had help/ way under thrown and LH receiver caught the tipped ball after two CS defenders fought over an easy INT. Nice play by LH player though.

Come on with the woulda, coulda, shoulda CS. Since you want to talk should have points and plays...... I watched the 7th A game that my son was in, CS 7th grade A team got pounded physically, and real lucky to tie that game in the last 2 seconds, (refs made sure of that with the 4 time outs given to CS). Not to mention the big flags helping the CS defense out. I would have loved for them to throw one on the 5 times that little guy on CS would wrap around my sons legs and hold (because he couldnt block him). I didnt get to make if back for the varsity but I hope the officials were less one sided.

Are we trying to compare a 7th grade football game and a Varsity football game?
