There is currently a fire going down by the football field which is close to my house and many many others. The high winds are making it hard to contain. Pray for Cameron and all those being effected by it right now. My mom was told to leave but she hasn't yet

The fire in Cameron has been contained. 4 fire dept's and a handful of retired firefighters came in to help out. Hopefully it doesn't spark back up and all of the other fires around Texas are controlled soon.

I'm glad it's contained!

We had one here earlier this afternoon in/by a newer subdivision. My husband said they got it under control.

The fire departments did a very good job of containing this fire and not letting it get too out of control. Prayers go out to the family that lost their home.

The fire in Bastrop has reportedly burned 14,000+ acres and is 0% contained. They are going to need all the help they can get

The fires East of Bastrop and around the Colony just to the West are real bad. Many homes destroyed. Highways 21 and 71 are closed through Bastrop. Smoke billowing up into the air can be smelled and seen from my place 30 miles east in La Grange. Winds yesterday were 20+ knots really making for bad fire conditions and preventing aerial tankers from fighting the blaze. It is a tinderbox all around here. Pray for Central Texas especially Bastrop, Smithville, Giddings and La Grange please.

My daughter in Lake Travis ok for now but the fires are still popping up and the folks are waiting to go back. Bonnie is in Bastrop helping a friend get thing out of their home if it isn't burned before she gets there or if they will let her in. so far at 10a has burned 16,000 acres and burned 400 homes n Bastrop and fire fighters no having a lot of effect on it.

25 homes lost over by Bonnies place. Thank God it didn't get cross the river. Danger still lurks.

Smithville is holding up an lucky so far. Bringing in many ppl who have evacuated. all churches , rec center, and school are filled to max. and need many supplies mostly baby food, formula ect. gartorade and bottle water is a need to. Supplies are going down fast with the closer of the major roads and fm roads so trucks cant come in with supplys from the west. the fire is starting to creep ere close to smithville and is almost sourounding us from the south and west. Hopefully we can cut it off at the river here and have more luck than farther west. The winds are a wirl-wind and just no teeling where this massive fire wich last reported was 20miles long and 4miles wide could go.

Lord, please calm this wind so the firefighters can put out these fires.

Here near Bastrop, they don't have a handle on the fire. 0% contained. It is horrible and sad.
