Last year Burnet won 55-7 in Burnet, the only reason I'm starting a thread on this one is because last year after a tough loss to Giddings and then the thumping next week of Fredericksburg, sparked the Bulldogs into a 7 game winning streak. With the return of my son tonight and #3 Connolly the Dawgs will be @ full strength. We have a young team mixed with some seniors so the younger guys are getting use to Friday Night Lights, hopefully the Dawgs will finally start to gell and get back to Burnet football..... SIC'EM DAWGS!!!

Fredericksburg's new head coach was welcomed by 4A Tivy last week with a 46-0 drumming. Not sure if that's a good indicator of the team they'll have but I see it as a good confidence builder if you guys can handle them rather easily. If not then one would tend to be concerned about where you guys are at this point. Good luck to the Dawgs and glad to hear your son and #3 have fully recovered and will play tonight.

14-12 Dawgs halftime, 2 turnovers in the redzone has kept Fredericksburg in the game. Fredericksburg is getting a lot of hometown cooking from the refs.
Yeah Cam he would have had that in the 1st half like I told u if it wasn't for the penalties.

Yeah you were dead on but without the penalties he would have had 200 plus!
The refs robbed him on the last TD he had already broke the plain & then the ball came out after he was clearly already in the endzone!
I normally don't complain about the refs but tonight was some of the worst officiating I have ever seen!

your son had a great night........and may have been in the endzone....but from the endzone shot it looks like he might not of had the ball.
Good Luck next week v. MF............I have lived in Hill Country 10 years and have alway been impressed with the way the Burnet kids get after it.........Good Luck on the season also.

Thank you Nastyslot... Yeah upon further review (on my laptop) it could have been coming out right when he was crossing the plain. I rewinded it & rewinded it & re.. The play was a bang bang play for sure the Dad in me says its a TD :) but it could've went both ways, I'll give the refs a pass on that one. I told my wife if we're in Burnet it's a TD! :D
He is still not @ full speed yet, he got a bit winded during the game, nothing a few extra wind sprints won't cure. I'm pretty sure the coaches will take care of that.
Yeah I love that too about Burnet it was one of the 1st things I noticed when we moved here from Katy last year. These kids get after it no matter the size of the opponent and they never quit battling until the final whistle.
MF is coming to town and it's Burnet's Homecoming, we ruined their's last year so I know payback is on the menu!

Thanks again Tejastrue, it was definitely a good night for the Dawgs and my son! We still have a lot to work on but with the run game the QB had a lil more breathing room.
