Famous Chili Story
"I went to Home Depot recently while not being altogether sure that course of action was a wise one. You see, the previous evening I had prepared and consumed a massive quantity of my patented 'you're definitely going to sh*t yourself' road-kill chili. Tasty stuff, although hot to the point of being painful, which comes with a written guarantee from me that if you eat it, the next day both of your butt cheeks WILL fall off.

Here's the thing. I had awakened that morning, and even after two cups of coffee (and all of you know what I mean) nothing happened. No 'Watson's Movement. Despite the chilies swimming their way through my intestinal tract, I was unable to create the usual morning symphony referred to by my dear wife as 'thunder and lightning'.

Knowing that a time of reckoning HAD to come, yet not sure of just when, I bravely set off for Home Depot, my quest being paint and supplies to refinish the deck. Upon entering the store at first all seemed normal. I selected a cart and began pushing it about dropping items in for purchase. It wasn't until I was at the opposite end of the store from the toilets that the pain hit me.

Oh, don't look at me like you don't know what I'm talking about. I'm referring to that 'Uh, Oh, Sh*t, gotta go' pain that always seems to hit us at the wrong time. The thing is, this pain was different. The chilies from the night before were staging a revolt. In a mad rush for freedom they bullied their way through the small intestines, forcing their way into the large intestines, and before I could take one step in the direction of the toilets which would bring sweet relief, it happened. The chilies fired a warning shot.

There I stood, alone in the paint and stain section, suddenly enveloped in a toxic cloud the likes of which has never before been recorded. I was afraid to move for fear that more of this vile odor might escape me. Slowly, oh so slowly, the pressure seemed to leave the lower part of my body, and I began to move up the aisle and out of it, just as a red aproned clerk turned the corner and asked if I needed any help.

I don't know what made me do it, but I stopped to see what his reaction would be to the toxic non-visible fog that refused to dissipate.. Have you ever been torn in two different directions emotionally? Here's what I mean, and I'm sure some of you at least will be able to relate. I could've warned that poor clerk, but didn't. I simply watched as he walked into an invisible, and apparently indestructible, wall of odor so terrible that all he could do before gathering his senses and running, was to stand there blinking and waving his arms about his head as though trying to ward off angry bees. This, of course, made me feel terrible, but then made me laugh. .......BIG mistake!!!!!

Here's the thing. When you laugh, it's hard to keep things 'clamped down', if you know what I mean. With each new guffaw an explosive issue burst forth from my nether region. Some were so loud and echoing that I was later told a few folks in other aisles had ducked, fearing that someone was robbing the store and firing off a shotgun. Suddenly things were no longer funny. 'It' was coming, and I raced off through the store towards the toilet, laying down a cloud the whole way, praying that I'd make it before the grand explosion took place.
Luck was on my side. Just in the nick of time I got to the john, began the inevitable 'Oh my God', floating above the toilet seat because my ass is burning SO BAD, purging. One poor fellow walked in while I was in the middle of what is the true meaning of 'Shock and Awe'.. He made a gagging sound, and disgustedly said, 'Son-of-a-bitch!, did it smell that bad when you ate it?', then quickly left.

Once finished and I left the restroom, reacquired my partially filled cart intending to carry on with my shopping when a store employee approached me and said, 'Sir, you might want to step outside for a few minutes. It appears some prankster set off a stink bomb in the store. The manager is going to run the vent fans on high for a minute or two which ought to take care of the problem.'

My smirking of course set me off again, causing residual gases to escape me. The employee took one sniff, jumped back pulling his shirt up to cover his nose and, pointing at me in an accusing manner shouted, 'IT'S YOU!', then ran off returning moments later with the manager. I was unceremoniously escorted from the premises and asked none too kindly not to return.

Home again without my supplies, I realized that there was nothing to eat but leftover chili, so I consumed two more bowls. The next day I went to shop at Lowes. I can't say anymore about that because we are in court over the whole matter. Bastards claim they're going to have to repaint the store."

They got a pretty good QB and a couple of dang good receivers. One of their WRs will go DI without a doubt. Had over 220 yards tonight.

Defense is real young and will have a learning curve. They will be a playoff team in 14-4A..

CH is not only a good team, they are real gritty. Several times kids would get banged up and had to sit out a while just to come back in and make a play, break a run.

Was a good game. Set the bar for the rest of the year. I'm expecting the same kind of game tomorrow night at the Tatum/Gilmer game. Now I'm sure that score will be 17-14. ha

i think they were two really great teams that both had better offenses than defenses....i dont know what barbay would say, but id bet hed like to have the challenge....and as far as whether wh could score this much against any 3a team, maybe they could, they might have twice the passing yardage against us, who knows, but i dont believe theyd run on us like that....just personal opinion....

I must admit I was a little surprised with Whitehouse's offense in this game. They've made some HUGE strides since Gilmer scrimmaged them. They didn't look like they would have it clicking this early on offense in that first scrimmage. Of course, Chapel Hill is Chapel Hill, and has speed to burn. I was right in my pick as to who the winner was, and the point spread, but I seriously didn't see the score being quite that high. I was thinking Chapel Hill in the 40's and WH in the 30's. It must've been a helluva game to watch, though.

as it sounded like they were able to run on ch....that was your point, that wh could score on any 3a team like they were on ch....(and i dont have the stats but it was confusing at times on whether they were running or passing at times, the excitement of the game was getting in there with the call and id miss it)....but yeah, i heard you call me out on there....it still sounds like the strength of ch is their offense....on this weeks poll im gonna vote ch ahead of us, but the jury is still out on their defense, they just sound like they have a better offense than any ive heard so far....i like ch's offense better than ours right now, and i life our defense better than theirs right now....

no they could not run on CH( nor does WH run lol)..they are a Texas Tech O down to the lack of any kind of run game..the big WH run was a broken down scramble by the qB

the striking difference in our def backfield this year is that barbay has had everyone alternating there, even gilbert...he had only 13 carries in the game but seemed to play more than that at db....hes really selling out to try and put together the best backfield there he can....it was obviously the weakness there ater k'ville and carthage....even though it did great against wimberley and athens...

Chapel Hill couldn't stop Aldridge at all last night. Most of his yards came after the catch. They will face his clone this week with Ed Pope.. Will be interesting to see how that pans out.

so, again not being there, the question was why didnt wh get the ball back into aldridges hands in those last two possessions? by a reverse, shuttle, anything? they lived and died by him all night then POOF the last two possessions? was he maybe just gassed like so many guys were?

we asked that during the broadcast..they tried two ill fated screens two him and then did not go to him last two possesions..but CH also put Kincade on him and I think that had alot to do with it

Well they didn't exactly live and die by him all night. Another receiver had 162 yards with two touchdowns..

He just happen to be the leading receiver.

My guess on the last couple of possessions was that CH made a change on the defensive side of the ball and put Kincaide on him man to man.

He was gassed but not anymore than the guy across from him that played both ways.

The other receiver(Cantrell) did see some passes towards the end, screens. Chapel Hill did a better job defending it. WH really didn't even try to attack down field late in the game or even in the game at all besides a handful of times.

Even with the points scored by WH the CHill DL and blitzes got to Taylor a bunch, he is just good at escape and improvise..very Farve like with some of his under hand throws and shovel passes out of nowhere..I think that is why they tried to keep it all short late
