Might as well get this party started.

Sinton sat idle this past Friday night while a most everyone else got in some playing time. Looks like Hondo put up some points on Bandera Friday night and I am curious to see how our Sinton boys will match up to those Owls. I feel the Defense will be fine and the offense should be ok once they settle in. Run and Gun Boys!!!!

I say if the freshman is a better QB start him, Ingleside made that mistake last year and lost games cause of it....plus the more playing time the better, good luck Sinton represent district 30 well. district 30 had 3 games this weekend and all 3 district 30-3A teams won. its gonna be another fun year.:clap:

Hondo was the better team last night , no doubt . In Banderas defense, with their AD taking over the offense, they were nowhere prepared for Hondos speed. Bandera couldnt get plays in and everyone was confused. Sinton should not have any problem matching up, will not be so easy for Hondo like with Bandera. Hondo will hit you and defend the pass well, safety closes fast and delivers a punch. backers make it tuff to turn the corner. pursuit is relentless, be ready to play Sinton. Hondo is celebrating 100 years with making the playoffs 48 of them.

The wait is over for Pirate Nation it's been 8 long months since we've been waiting for the Pirates to start the season. Hoist the colors time to gear up the ship prepare the cannons and set sail into a new season. Go Pirates!!! See ya in them Friday Night Lights road trips

Can't wait to see how these pirates do after losing some talent and curious how well this freshman qb is gonna progress during the season. Read somewhere ingleside is picked as favs to win district can't wait to see if pirates can change thar outcome. Sinton Pirate Football is back!!

DCTF has Ingleside as the favorite. FNF does not. It looks like a toss up between Ingleside, Sinton and Rockport. Gonna be fun.

For those of you that like to attend the pep-rally I just found out that Z-95 will be hosting our pep-rally since we are their game of the week. Pep-rally is set for Friday at 3:30pm in the old Pirate Gym. GO PIRATES!!! :cheerl:

Didn't Hondo score a bunch on Bandera last year? Then they ran into Sinton's defense. This ought to be a good game. I can't find a game summary or box score for the Hondo game last week. Did they score by passing, running, blocked punt, interceptions...all the above?

Hondo had a short field for the most night,i could not find a box score myself and wont have access to one til tomorrow when the local paper comes out,What i do remember though the defense recorded a safety,recovered 2 fumbles,and an interception for a td.The qbs combined for 9 for 15,214 yards and assuming 5 td passes,again not too sure as i left at halftime,due to illness of my daughters.

Hondo may have the advantage due to having played one game this year. Playing in Sinton's house ought to even those odds a bit. I still don't think Hondo will scores 21 points on Sinton's Defense......

24 - 17 Sinton wins.

He is listed on the Max preps roster. And last I heard he was on varsity. We shall see Friday! Heard Shedd has been working alot with coach Alaniz. Big difference last two weeks.

can somebody from sinton help me with why they would take the first week as a bye week? i know, for instance, we have a county fair each year on our bye week, sowe take it then....does sinton have a similar reason?

Sinton's bye week just worked out that way. It is my understanding that game schedules are in two year agreements usually. We played Hondo in Hondo last year and in Sinton tonight. I don't ever remember Sinton playing Hondo before unless it was in the playoffs. Coaches just trying to schedule evenly matched apponents now. Sinton used to play Taft and Refugio, ect... for their pre-district games.

And our county fair is in late January....

Old Fiddlers was in October, but I don't ever remember the bye week being scheduled purposely around it. And old fiddlers stopped in the early 90's.

Oh yea..... Go Pirates!!! Go Band!!!

Bye weeks are just that....Bye's. Determined due to scheduling. Some are early, some in the middle, some late. Has no bearing on teams. Every team has one.

i was giving the benefit of the doubt....few other teams choose the first week when ALL others have the same scheduling situations...and just because they all have one doesnt mean they use theirs up so early....its like calling a timeout before the first play of a game....wasnt insulting, just asking if anyone knew a good reason....

Sinton plays are up the middle against a stack line on defense. Don't see Sinton scoring much unless they open their playbook in the 2nd half. Fr qb warmed up before the half was over. Sinton 2 pass attempts in the first half.

What a difference a year makes. Hondo qb was much improved from last year, had better knowledge of his surroundings and pick his spots. Sinton offense two times inside the 10 and fumbles with basically just running the ball inside with the rb or qb. Didn't help on both fumbles inside the 10, with one returned for a td and a Sinton fumble that gave Hondo the ball at the 2 yd line. Fumbles happen with the qb to rb exchange. Hondo did look quicker on both sides of the ball. Good game and win for Hondo and good luck the rest of the season.

Hondo has a huge offensive line. Sinton is pretty good on defense but very small. they held their own for the most part in 1st half but with no offensive production they were dead meat in the 2nd half. Two things I noticed and was pretty obvious is Shedd should not be the QB. If he plays offense he needs to be a reciever. I know it's the 1st game and all but he just doesn't seem comfortable being the signal caller. Plus he makes Sinton one dimensional. That freshman to me looked alot more comfortable running the offense and it looked like to me the kids on offense got a little more pumped when he came in. He's got a helluva arm and he's not too bad of a runner. Just my 2 cents which ain't worth nothin.
