Looks like they are following the Oregon model. A little too much going on in those unis for me. Seems like a lot of schools will be sporting new unis this year.

I kinda like them....Maryland has a really cool state flag so incorporating that in the helmet is sweet...

Because kids don't like "normal" it all has to be Red Bull over the top crap to keep up with the XBOX360 age. There are some teams that have to do this because that's the only attention they get. Come time for games and they disappear we'll always remember the "cool" unis.

Personally there's nothing better than seeing the Texas, OU, LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Michigan, Notre Dame, etc wear the same old thing year after year and get things done on the field.

Right? It's because the teams with no history, no "brand recognition", get money thrown at them to trick their uni's up. You don't see Ohio State, Oklahoma, Alabama, LSU, USC, etc.... having to change their scheme to get some media hype.

The Oregon model works....kids love cool unis...hell TCU has like 20 combos now also....Oklahoma State and Arizona State did it also...if you dont have the traditional unis like Texas, Penn State, Alabama, Notre Dame...the next best thing is to trick it up!

I'm not against any team updating their look. But sometimes less is more and I think this is the case with Maryland's new unis. I do like what Rutgers is doing though. Going the all black route. Like the matte black helmet. http://www.nikeblog.com/2011/05/26/black-rutgers-football-helmet-uniforms/
