A dung beetle surprise...

This morning my wife wakes me up to come "get the bug out".....a dung beetle had made it's way to our bathroom...guess he knew what it was doin'...anyway, I picked it up and flushed em'...told em' there was plenty of crap where he was goin'....
The bad news: I had no idea dung beetles spray when threatened....holy dung did it stink up the bathroom and bedroom....so, just a warning....don't pick them suckers up!! Just give em' what they want and open the front door so he can let himself out....:ack!:

I once picked up a beetle to get it off my patio. It wasn't one of the stinky beetles, but it was about 3 inches long, black and ugly. Anyway, it stung the crap out of me...it felt like I had been stung by a wasp. It literally brought tears to my eyes and I was trying to help the darn thing by moving it to a safe place.

I don't pick up beetles anymore...they can have full command of my yard or house because I am not getting near them.
