Shows how inconsistent he is. He will either be really good one day or really bad.

for Holland it is all about ONE inning..he can be pitching a 2 hitter then will walk 4 and give up 3 hits in 5th inning

yep it is..but again for Holland..not like in the bad games he is getting rocked for 5 innings like Wilson did last game..he will be sailing along and have one inning where he loses it and boom 5 runs up in the inning

Gotcha. Imagine when he gets that under control. He'll be very good.

70 runs in 18 starts would be 3.89 runs a start, not all that bad. Remember the immortal Cliff Lee a has for 4 shutouts alson and has given up 56 runs in his other 18 starts, so has given up less than one run per start in thos "other" 18 starts (3.1).

my point is that it is not like Holland in the 18 starts gives up 3 runs over 8 innings..even with 4 complete game shutouts he is only completing 6 innings a game which is just average with rest of starters who only have a COMBINED 5 CGs

the frustrating this about Holland is how many times it is the one inning where it all falls apart..He is the only starter who is giving up more hits than Innings pitched for the Rangers and has the highest bating average agianst for starters as well and has higest whip of them..yet still when he is on he is a shut down pitcher

if he can fix that and pitch better in jams, I think he moves from a 5 starter to a 2 starter easy

I really think that with the relief additions, Wash will have a very short leash on his starters. He can bring Rhodes and or Oliver for situational matchups and then go to the likes of Lowe (throws 100 and has really shown some consistency lately), Uehara, Adams, and Feliz for the 6th - 9th innings. The back end just got scary good!

The Rangers designated Arthur Rhodes to clear room for Mike Adams.

He seemed to be the odd man out.

Im not saying it is a big problem yet, but the starting pitching is starting to struggle a little bit lately Wilson has been bombed his last 2 starts. Lewis looks absolutely AWFUL tonight Oganda has slipped a bit after his hot start also.
