Eastland is a very good 7 on 7 team...their pool is tough.....tournament starts Thursday at noon

Anahuac will be tough, they are very very athletic..Albritton is one of the top players in the tournament....he's got several Division 1 offers...dont think Aubrey and Salado will present too much of a challenge...Brownwood got a pretty favorable draw IMO

BEASTYeah we got put with three teams w havent played, Although Hitchcock i think we played a few years ago. I like playing new teams just would like to know something about them. I do know that they are all ranked a little higher than us, But thats it.

Glen Rose's pool is pretty wide open....I'd give Hitchcock the edge due to their speed and they've had a real good summer thus far..but any one of the four teams in that group could win the pool

I am gald its a close pool because it will make us play hard and not take anyone lightly. The last time we had a pool that had teams all ranked above us we went to the semifinals. Good competition helps in gaining mometum and confidence for the playoff rounds if you are able to advance.

As far as Div 1 pools go, did Aledo and Sville decide to not participate or did they not qualify?

Stephenville failed to qualify. Aledo doesnt play in SQTs, therefore they cant move on to state. They play in league games around their area.

Gotcha. Aledo in the past didnt play in SQTs if my memory is right.

They did not up until last year...they played at the Abilene SQT a year ago and played at Denton and Colleyville this year

The Old Farts will be there if the creeks don't rise or one of our Power Chairs don't break down. I think the Bucks are ready for their first championship. Old Coach has us rated #2 behind Celina...evedently no one looked closely....everyone knows they can't handle East Texas Speed...IT KILLS.

What happened to Stephenville? I know they lost a lot of linemen but I thought they had quite a few skill players back including their QB who started the last two years (plus the incoming QB stud who's a freshman I've been hearing about), and Avian Edwards is back plus some others.

Celina is unarguably the powerhouse in "real" football. But, they have not been a powerhouse in 7on7 as their regular season offense does not transfer for 7on7 success.

Good question. Teams have to have receivers to be a contender. Not sure that's their strong point. Wasn't last year and I don't see it being this year either. :)

Celina is the most consistent 7 on 7 team in the state, the past four years they've won two titles, lost in the quarter-finals and semi-finals. I'd say that equals powerhouse.
