Doubt they'd get that joke. But Im serious. Stopped at a garage sale and they had some stuff. Ive got an old Spruce Apaches shirt, too. I'd love to get ahold of a Tyler Lee Rebel item.
But, none got the same attention as Frisco, so I thought they might be worth something.

I bet some of the old timers from frisco would pay for the shirts. I actually have some friends from Frisco and they still refuse to say Racoons......

I was thinking more along the lines of just collectors or HS football junkies in general. Obviously, they're not making anything else that says Frisco Coons.
Still hard to believe that they're only 12 years removed from being a one, 3a high school town.

I think that merchandise will get you a big helping of scorn from all of the hyper sensitive, politically correct types and probably even the Frisco ISD Administration. Especially if you flaunted it at any FISD sporting event. Maybe it would get you tossed out?

I personally find all the offense funny and I vaguely remember when the Dallas news companies realized what Frisco's mascot was ... and created a furor. Pretty funny stuff.

Not interested in the goodies but I have a little nugget to illustrate how out of control the growth has been there. I know a guy who graduated from Frisco HS in 1989 and he had 89 in his graduating class. Here we are 22 years later and they have 5 4A HS's and 1 3A school.

Pilot Point and Celina not only used to play Frisco (when they were 2A) they would regularly lay the smack down on the Coons.

Frisco HS first jumped to the 4a ranks in the 2000 realignment with an enrollment of 896. 11 years later, as BW said, they have 5 4a schools and a 3a.

It's debatable, but if they ever stop building a new school every month, Id say they all have a good shot. Liberty HS went 12-1 last year and I think 8-5 the year before. Every FISD school is good in at least one sport. If the growth and enrollment ever stablizes, I'd expect to see FISD look very similar to the Cy Fair schools.

But yeah hopefully that growth stabilizes, too much might not be a good thing. Heck look at Fort Bend ISD. A lot of schools there, only a few having success.

That's b/c they have a few with almost 3a enrollment playing in 5a. Frisco's plan is not to allow any schools to go to 5a. They want one, all-FISD 4a district.

And Cy Fair schools have some playoff success, too. I think FISD will too once it all stabilizes.

I remember driving through Frisco in the 80's when I was in High School and they had a round watertower with Frisco Coons painted on it with a pic of a racoon. Light Blue and yellow were their colors if I remember right.

The water tower and painting are both still there.

I was lucky enough to get a picture of the round water tower on Preston Road before the Frisco Coons was painted over. I watched Frisco change into the parking lot as some call it today as I comuted to and from work in Garland.

I remember playing Frisco in High School. Our district, at the time, was 2A. The district consisted of Aubrey, Callisburg, Celina, Coppell, Frisco, Little Elm, Pilot Point, and Southlake Carroll. It's amazing how much it has changed. None of these teams are 2A now. Half of them are 4A or 5A now.

Callisburg is still 2A but they are the only one.
