District 13 started play tonight in sealy, the Bellville 8 year old defeated Sealy 13-6, Bellville 8 year olds will play Sat. at 8 vs La Grange in Sealy.
Bellville 7 year olds will play Brenham Friday at 6 in Sealy. Good luck to all these young players!

Bellville 8 yr olds play Lee Co, tonight at 8 in pool play. 8 are 3-0.

Bellville 7,8 year old girls were defeated by Brenham 11-9.

Belville 8 yr old boys defeated Burleson County to advance to the semi-finals. Final score was Bellville 13-2. Way to go Baby Bulls!!

The Bellville 8 year olds defeated Washington County 9-5 to win the District 13 Championship. This is now their 2nd straight crown, as these boys were also last year's winners in the 7 year old division. Bellville came up with some timely hits, but several defensive gems were the key to winning this game. The Bellville pitcher snagged a screaming line drive that stalled a potential big inning for the Brenham team. Another big play was when a WC runner was thrown out trying to score. A quick throw to home forced the runner back to third, but the speedy Bellville catcher was able to run him down & tag him for the out. Hats off to the Bellville coaches, they played to win & forced the action with some aggressive base running. You can tell the boys are well-coached, they know what base to throw the ball, many times they cut down the lead runners for the Brenham team. In one inning, they forced out the runner 3 times going to third.

The Bellville team capped off the night with a victory party at Othie's Grill. The jukebox was playing "We are the Champions", the drinks were cold & the chicken fried steaks were let's just say very big & delicious. Congratulations to the back-to-back champions, can anybody say 3-peat? :clap::clap::clap:

Congrats to these players and coaches. I know first hand what type of effort and commitment it takes to win one of these and to win it two times is pretty remarkable.

It will be interesting to see how these boys develop in the coming years.

They will be moving away from the pitching machine, hopefully they have a few good arms. My friend coaches like 9-10 year olds, he states that pitching & having a good catcher is the key to being successful at that level. Pitchers don't have to be dominate, just throw strikes. A good catcher prevents teams from taking the extra bases on pass balls.
