Oklahoma could have dominated this game had they just lined up and rammed it down Texas' throat out of the I. The boys from Oklahoma held a big size advantage up front and when they did choose to run out of the I that advantage was easy to spot. The Texas kicking game was sputtering badly until the field goal to end it. Lee Clubb from Iowa Park put on a nice show offensively and the Texas defense scored 8 points with a pick 6 and a safety. Overall, I think it was a very well contested game.

Drives you nuts doesn't it? Why not play smash mouth, and make the other team bow up and stop you.
Too many coordinators now think you have to sling it around, spread 'em out, to be effective. That works if you can do it, but take advantage of what you have at the moment.

I saw Carthage play twice last season and that is one of the things that impressed me. Coach Surratt didn't get cute. When he had that running game rolling, he just kept the pressure on. Lots and lots of power, iso, and sweep. If a play worked, he wasn't afraid to run it again...and again...and again! Loved that!
