Is that good or did you benefit from "a curve"? :D

From all feedback I received, it was very good. But, I really only took it for my old man who really wanted me to be a lawyer. Coaching was in my blood by then. But, if ol' Patrict, Essler, and their band of monkeys and chimps have their way, I may be going that route soon enough.

Good thing you called those on the right "monkeys"...
I can see you using those law skills already.:p

That was as nice as I could be. It's an all out assault on public education and teachers in general. Its just a small handful, while the other R's are just toeing the party line. Not sure why these guys hate public schools and teachers(and coaches, in Patrick's case) so much, but they obviously do. Just read the legislative reports and see what these guys are saying. Geez!
Partisan politics are only for sheep and the extremely weak-minded.

Daddy D, how was the test? You feel good about it?

I've tested on my practice tests right at 160 as well. however, the reading comp section on this one was a bitch and i'm expecting a little lower of a score

but, from what im hearing..everyone bombed the reading comp so hopefully the curve gets me back to that number

I doubt anyone really hates "public schools". I'm sure most just dislike the results...

I know you say you are "non partisan"...
but really you only attack one side. You can't have this both ways.:nerd:

160 will get you into any law school in Texas. Id wish you luck, but it's a little late for that, considering you've already taken it. So, hope you did well!

i felt great about every section except reading comp. i felt i was testing above my par until reading comp kicked my ass.

my goal is to get into UT Law. right now i already have a paid staff position with a state rep for the next session, so if my score dips below UT's range i'm going to play politics for the next 2.5 years and serve the next leg session. then hopefully use that experience and maybe some connections i make in the process to get me into UT law

if i'm negged then, i'll obviously weigh a dozen other schools and look at scholarship offers and go from there

You really need to keep up with this. There is an utter disdain from some of these guys(Patrick, Essler, and that guy from Stephenville). The "results" they talk about are a consequence of the mandates that these same people set in motion!
And you obviously are lacking in reading comprehension skills, my friend(maybe you could have benefited from the TAKS test?). If I have any lean at all, it's to the conservative side(not the neo-conservative side, which isn't conservative at all. That seems to be your side). Im ready to end welfare, AFDC, WIC, food stamps, section 8 housing, and medicaid knowing full well that it would lead to a civil war. But, if we are to survive as a democratic nation, it's necessary. I'll also fight to the death to keep the estate tax repealed, Im anti-affirimative action, and Im anti-EPA(I think it's actually an attempt to usher in a socialist society in the name of enviornmentalism).
But, Im also for regulation of markets, pro-choice(I still see it as a social issue), pro-gay marriage(still a social issue), pro legalization of *********, pro-separation of church and state, pro public education, and in favor of downsizing the military(largest contributor of wasteful spending).
So, pick a label. I like to call it, an intelligent and independent thinker. ;)

Any particular reason you've got your heart set on UT Law?

politically, you cant beat it.

i understand their teaching methods can have some troubles with bar passage rating, but in my opinion the political benefits out weigh having to study a little harder during bar-bree.

plus, my dad was 1 of 7 kids and they all went to UT
and my mom was 1 of 3 and they all went to UT
and i grew up 20 minutes outside of austin, that's home to me, it's my comfort zone

oh, and its pretty prestigious legal education to boot lol

more so, it's just a goal i have set for myself, and my stubborn ass is going to work like hell to try to achieve it. if not, then oh well, i won't beat myself up over it because i know i tried as hard as i could

Heh heh. Understand that. What area are you going into? If you're going into criminal law, then it really makes not a crap where it's from. Other fields, I really don't know enough about the hiring practices. But criminal is easy to get into once you've got your license to steal(Bar Card).

Been some time since I saw you attack the other side.;)
Call it what you want...
you attack what hits home. And that is public spending for more money to go to PUBLIC education and your job. (Us in the private sector are struggling even more today.) I am NOT unsympathetic, heck, anyone who thinks their job could be lost is going to be scared.
Don't get personal. The TAKS is/was easy. ;)

We should all be working to make sure Obama won't get re-elected, though. The lack of job growth, and hence, tax revenues can be pinned to a lack of confidence(and uncertainty) that this current President can't help but cultivate with his anti-business pro-environmentalist stance.

I can't explain why you would want to change the definition of Marriage, though. That IS NOT a social(civil rights) issue, unless you bought into some of the radical leftists' petty arguments.
How can you want to change a definition that has stood for damn near forever without being "elitist" and arrogant?

Ehh, hopefully this will be here tomorrow... gotta get some ZZZs now.:D

that's funny bc since deciding in high school i wanted to practice law, i was adamantly against criminal law. however, in january i began working in a criminal defense firm here in waco and it's definitely changed my opinion.

but, i still do not see myself going down that road. at this point i really do not know, i'm the stupid type that literally enjoys every type and can't get enough of it all. (Well except for family law, that stuff i want no part of)
