If you had the opportunity to rescue from drowning, your favorite pet or a stranger, which one would you save?

You can only pick one or the other because you don't have time for both.

The stranger, human life is far more important that that of an animal.

My pet dolphin Bartholemu cannot drown, therefore I would save the human

I would ask who the stranger voted for first. If he says Obama, he drowns.

what if your pet is your blind seeing eye dog? Then you wouldn't see either of them in the water

Call me a jerk, but I'd save my pet. The logistics of it are better. I can't swim, so I'd have a better chance of saving a 15 pound dog than a human weighing many pounds more.

Human is out of the question.

If I don't save the pet, my wife kills me and you see where that got me:doh:

I know this isn't relevant but an old preacher told the congregation that when he was a boy in the very early part of the 20th century that he knew a preacher that took his son and his son's best friend to fish in a lake. They didn't have weather service back then but in the middle of the lake a storm came and the waters were stirring. The boat turned over and the preacher was strong enough to swim. They boys were unable to swim in the current and the preacher could just save one of the boys. He chose his son's best friend and got him to shore. His son was drowned. When asked why he saved his son's best friend instead of the son he said "I knew my son was saved but that his best friend was lost. I will meet my son in Heaven someday but if I hadn't saved his best friend I wouldn't. I had to save him to give him a chance to be saved."

The old preacher then told the congregation that some choices are difficult and he added "I can tell you for sure that this story is true because I was the best friend."
