That's why I like him. Shows emotion, keeps you interested. The same can be said of Gus Johnson. Here's a little out there but he calls each game like it's a championship game.

Dizzy Dean. You have to be really old to have heard him call baseball. He had the famous line one time on a boring Sunday afternoon game at Tiger Stadium. The camera was panning the stadium and there weren't many fans still there. Then the camera spotted a young couple that was way up in a corner of the stadium all by themselves and they were making out. Dizzy said, "Well, there's a couple that has figured out how to make this boring game exciting. He can kiss her on the strikes, and she can kiss him on the balls". Dizzy was so genuine and somewhat naive that he didn't even reallize what he had said.

i dont care for gruden. he sounds like he is reading, and he throws in too many stats. cant make one comment without giving a stat to go with it.

When I was a kid interested in broadcasting, my uncle and grandfather told me The Diz was the best they'd ever heard.
