Both Shiner and Hallettsville have their church picnics on Sunday
They also both have great food, polka music and cold beer
We used to go to both but haven't been in a while
Will most-likely go to Hallettsville

Many Catholic Churches along the border towns had plazas accross the street from the Church. After the Sunday Masses the people would come to the plaza after lunch and visit and there would be proper courting done. Some people had their lunch at the plaza. This custom is not practiced too much nowadays sad to say. :(
