I was over at my mothers for christmas today and saw an annual from her high scool days in Ballinger(she is 91).They had a list of the 1923 team members,there were exactly 11 boys on the team,that must have been real iron man football.What tickled me was a writeup on the Ballinger-San Angelo game.They said in the 4th quarter with San Angelo leading 12-6 there was a fumble and the two teams couldn't agree on which side recovered so they just called off the game!
