I heard the WFMTC had to be disbanded due to a court ruling on the name being offensive. They re-organized last month as the CLPFD and it is a United Nations affiliate.

Chunking Little People for Distance

BTW: The $10,000 fee required by the WFMTC was non-refundable. There is only a $10 fee to join the CLPFD but you must maintain a $!,000,000 liabilaty policy before you can chunk your first LP.

This.

The only thing that comes remotely close came and passed me by this year--Auburn playing for a BCS Championship, but I'd watch any World Cup game. Working with the Texans during the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup (Central and North American "pre-World Cup") when it came to Reliant changed my opinion about what I wanted to do.

Far and away the most fun sport to watch.

I'm not in good enough shape anymore, but one of my lifelong dreams was a worldwide surf trip that started in California and passed through Hawaii and Australia on the way around, kinda following the Endless Summer.

Always wanted to be in a spot where I could save the money and work out hard enough to do a world tour like that. Start off small enough to get some skill on waves that are bigger/faster than I'm used to and work my way up. Start out on the California Coast one fall (no Mavericks or Cortes Islands, maybe Huntington), slide down to Nicaragua/Costa Rica for some harder waves, move on to Hawaii and surf before the winter swells get pushed up and get some time in to build up my stamina and skill, then go on to Tahiti for the coup de gras--a session at Teahupoo--before moving to Tonga, then Australia (several great spots down under), Jeffrys Bay, South Africa, then Rio.

Always just a pipe dream--there was one website that would "build" an around-the-world plane trip for you--and I never got the money and/or skill to do it. On top of that, I weigh 100 lbs more than I did back when I surfed, so I'd be more likely to kill myself these days than paddle through those sets.

Nice little set of dreams though, Hollywood.
