When you and your wife/family go somewhere together--who drives?

I can safely say I am my wife's designated chauffeur. She asked me the other day why we don't sit next to each other anymore when we go somewhere, and I said---"I ain't moved." :D

I guess it's a "man" thing, because everytime I go anywhere with my family I drive. It could be because her driving scares the bejeebers out of me, but.......:D

I see a lot of women drivers in the over 65 crowd...

We both drive. Me from the drivers seat and her from the passengers seat.

 Classic, G2....:D

I lost count of the number of times I have slammed on the brakes after my wife yells "Look out", and there is not a vehicle within 50 yards......

My wife doesn't drive with me in the car for several reasons.

If she doesn't know the way and I try to navigate, I'm interfering.

She only has two speeds, full stop and full out. My neck is sore after anytime I ride with her.

I don't have to waste time stopping for directions. I use the Garmin.

She is so busy sleeping, she doesn't have time to drive.

If we stay local and we are in the wife's car, she drives. If we are taking a trip out of town, I drive.

If I've got to be in a vehicle, I figure I might as well be driving. I just get bored being a passenger, and cant sleep setting up.

I thought pit stops were based on the smallest bladder? If I'm driving we stop when you says. If she's driving, we stop when she says.

If we're in my truck, I drive. In her truck, she will usually drive unless it's a long trip.

Nope---seated right there on the passenger side. Don't see many old folks of either gender braving the Metroplex freeways much.

Go play in the traffic, bol.....:D

I aways drive unless i have had too much to drink or am physically incapable. Or I just say your driving, And then I have to beg or offer something in return. And no sex doesnt work, although saying I wont bug her for it does now, Must be a sign of getting old. :D

I always drive no matter who I'm with pretty much. Besides riding the tram at school, I don't remember the last time someone else drove me. Even when I go home and mom wants to go somewhere and asks me to go, she knows I want to drive.

I like to be the one in control I think. I stomp the crap out of that imaginary brake on the passenger side if I'm not driving. Also I get bored easily and I was always taught that if you aren't driving you don't control the radio, so when I'm with anyone, I have complete control lol. Road trip to Utah a few years ago was hell because I didn't get to drive until about 5 in the morning as we were getting back into texas...and I can't sleep in a car either

One thing I have noticed that seems to have increased over the last few years is a large number of lone female drivers on the highway. I've wondered if it is because of cell phones giving them a feeling of security?

Oh, and I drive unless it is to a fun place and I feel the need for an adult beverage along the way.;)

I drive and she naps as she is instructed to do. She knows if she is awake she is going to get scared anyway. I drive a little fast.:D

She drives. She gets car sick otherwise. Also, she has some unique driving rules that I don't understand or care to follow.

I drive 99% of the time. The 1% that I don't is normally coming home from a COWBOYS or RANGERS game. It's always nice to have a DD after those events.
