Former Dallas Cowboy RB Ron Spriggs died from a heart attack Thursday at the age of 54 while in a coma since October 2007.

I know the father was a CB, and his son was a RB. At 54, I think it has to be the father, doesnt it? He had something like 11 ints his rookie year. I think its still the record.

My mistake. I was thinking of Everson Walls. He was the CB, and he donated a kidney to springs a few years back.
Been too many years, and my facts got all fuddled up.

With the internet it should be easy to look up. Ron was a running back for the Cowboys who played in the late 70's and early 80's. Played with Tony Dorsett and Timmy Newson. Son Shawn is a CB who is at the end or his career. Both are from Ohio State. RIP Ron

I remember him well, drafted by Tom Landry out of Ohio State, was the fullback in the backfield with Tony Dorsett, excellent football player, I knew he had been having health problems with the organ donation from E. Walls, sad to hear.
