State Semis in hoops in 95!! I do agree that 96 season and getting beat in area was disappointing!!! I watched PJs class(big John was on varsity) as freshman beat Liberty Hill 107-47!!! Went 20-2!! The next year they won 24 games as a jv, understand PJ was on Varsity, and beat Giddings once 112-68!!!

Region 3 was not very kind. Sealy and Bellville had the Tigers number!!! In hoops it was Navasota, Woodville and Crockett!!! You remember Rockdale playing Fairfield in football?? Tony Brackens was in the backfield every snap, no chance!!!

Good luck to Mineral Wells and our own Lorenzo Johnson at state! Blow them hurdles away!
I'm a little partial as his brother lives across the street from me.

Nice. We had a boy win state in both hurdle events a few years ago and have a girl
competing in both events this year.

Congrats to Nick Jung from Burnet , I think he is the only one in the school to qualify for the state meet. Great kid who really worked hard to get where he is at. 39.87 in the 300 hurdles also set a new school record.

Is the Brooks kid from Rockdale related to the Brooks brothers that ran track there back in the 80's and early 90"s?

He comes from a good gene pool then because all of the Brooks that I know of were stud hurdlers.
