Went to the prelims yesterday. Here are some things that stood out:
1. Madison dropped the stick in the sprint relay on the first exchange. I felt so bad for those kids, because they were going to be right in the thick of kids trying to qualify for state.
2. The 100 and 200 in the girls division will be hotly contested between a girl from Farmersville (Craddock), a girl from Prosper (Lewis), and a girl from Spring Hill (but only in the 200).
3. Celina has a lot more speed than they have had the past two years. 2nd in qualifying in sprint relay, 1st in 800, and 1st in mile relay.
4. Carthage jumped the gun on the MILE RELAY!!! How can you jump on the mile relay?
5. Celina has the best uniforms on the boys' side, and I think it might be Liberty Eylau on the girls' side (leopard print tops and it looks like they are wearing a belt with spandex pants).
Finals start at 4PM today in Commerce.
