I saw this. It would be down right scary to go to a game in Florida. Those people make the crazy soccer fans look like school girls.

this is nothing new or just exclusive to Florida...betting on little league games and HS games is all across the nation..in fact betting on HS games was probably more rampant back in the day than now..read Mighty Mites and how betting was a HUGE deal in Texas HS football back then

ok, i'm 55 and i had bets going on almost every high school game i played in...my friends always took bets on games and id make sure i had someone taking my money before the game....and yes, i always bet on our team....

while i agree with txbroadcaster that it was rampant years ago, we're being naive, i think, if we believe its not more so today....not much that was illegal years ago isnt participated in much more today....i see it along the fences of every game i attend.....

I dont know...reading about Texas HS football back in the 30's 40's I do think it was WAY more rampant then on a local level

i know local guys who have told me about games they made a lot of cash on in the 70's

isn;t there a story toldabout how one team lost the game but gambling fans of that team made a killing with the spread the winners fans were giving.......for some reason I want to say it was a title game between bellville and denver city.

Denver City won, 26-21, but Brahmas fans had a joyous trip back to Bellville.

"They were betting that we wouldn't even score," Ernie Jr. says of the Denver City fans. "They were giving 21 points. They got the win, but, supposedly, we got the money."

Ernie Koy JR was part of that team

If someone wants to bet might as well. Football is a serious business.
