JJ was an above average quarterback who got injured and never got it fixed properly. The good thing is that JJ is a great kid. He gave so much of his time and talents to A&M on and off the field.

For some of you "has beens" or more like "never weres" to come on here and criticize him in this manner is just sad.

Take a look in the mirror, what did you ever do?

bolshavik
05-02-2011, 01:20 PM
Who cares...He never was really that good of a QB and when you are getting paid "free tuition" at a big time school fans and non fans will put their 2 cents in...Stop acting like he is a 16 y.o. kid in high school..He isn't he a a 20 something year old MAN. It is great that he did good things in the community but the bottom line is Tanneyhill took over and A&M rallied around him and beat UT (sadly) and went to a bowl.

I think they are critizing those who claimed JJ was going to win a NC, be better than Young and win a Heisman more than JJ himself

Bunch of idiots. I guess we are forgetting the darkhorse for Heisman Gilbert talk before 5-7 happened. Yep. You won't see me rag on the kid though because even though he is a Longhorn, I like GG because of the hard work he has put in to get to this point. He just had a bad season and he apparently deserves a second chance and will thrive under Harsin. JJ was injured and had MAJOR SHOULDER SURGERY followed by coaches tinkering with his throwing motion, but is now laughed at by the same people that make fun of TexAgs posters for that kind of behavior.

And by the way for those that care about his future, he was picked #1 in the UFL draft. He still has a lifetime to recover and rebound. Great kid with a great attitude that is an awesome representative for Texas A&M University. Thanks JJ.

which qb had to have the game of career to beat the aggies in a late november game?

Bolshvik,

How old are you? Perhaps you need a little education. I looked at the last 30 years of the rivalry and it is 15-15. It you go back two more years the Ags are 17-15 versus Texas. I would look again about that envy thing.

During that time the sips have only one (1) national championship to show for all those great teams, all those great coaches, all those great players and all that money.

Next time do some homework and I think you will see we are not so envious of someone we have beaten more than they have beaten us the last 30+ years. And that is since most of the people on this board have paid attention to college football.

I've spent some time in College Station and done my time at Harry's,Hall of Fame,etc... And slapped around a few ROTC nerds that call themselves THE CORE. It is all make believe wanna be's. Leach was right, Tech are the Red Raiders but they don't have a "How to be a Pirate" class...lol...To the outside it is just silly.

Now, how many 10 win seasons does Texas have vs ATM? How many bowl wins? How many Conference titles? How many Nat. Titles? Again, every Aggie wants to talk about head to head match ups vs Texas because that is THE ONLY GAME that matters to ATM. That is the problem. UT wants to win em all and ATM only cares about 1 game.

And crap like you are spewing is the reason they banned college talk on here for a long time. While you are bashing the corps of cadets, something idiots on rival message boards just love to do, educate yourself. Straight from the corps webpage:

The Texas A&M Corps of Cadets has produced some of the nation's finest military leaders. While membership in the Corps carries no military obligation, the Corps consistently commissions more officers than any institution other than the service academies.

All cadets select a Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) and enroll in ROTC courses during their freshman and sophomore years. Cadets may select from Army, Air Force or Navy/Marine ROTC.

Would you make fun of kids at West Point? The Naval Academy? Air Force Academy? These KIDS are in a fully accredited ROTC program that also allows them to major in their field of choice should they elect to not choose a full military career. If that's what your kid wanted, would you point your finger in his face and call him a "fake" army?

Go to the Pentagon and see how many Dixie Chicken / Century Club / 12th Man stickers you see on vehicles. Where do you think these guys came from. Not from some high school ROTC program.

I love the fact you link yourself with Leach. That about says it all.

Yes Texas has won a lot. Heck they should with athletic budget they have. I think A&M has done pretty good the last five years in all sports. Care to compare National Championships the last 3-4 years in all sports?

BEAST Im far far from an Aggie but have great respect for the core. I have several friends and a close cousin who are in the core. It is the real deal. I think the fake part comes from not all having to commission for the military, but be that as it may I wouldn't call it fake at all. As much as I dislike A&M sometimes I do respect the core and the university.

As far as the Patton quote TXbroadcaster how many universities say the same thing about their school? lol

This thread is a mess and being caused by 1 person.

As for your love for Leach, if he god's gift to football, why is he sipping cold drinks in Florida. I like the guy but will be the first to tell you he has his flaws like any. Doing more with less is a great traite but really isn't the answer to get you to the next level.

As for coaches and Tech's history, Spike put TTU on the map, Leach took it and expanded it. Tubbs will add even more to it. Just like great coaches do. Tough to compare them side be side since they reap the benefits of their precessor. They all have their strengths and flaws.

Since your new, your getting some slack from posters, but please don't screw this up for all. Your kind of diahrea of the mouth is what gets college football banned here. Have a convo without all the name calling.

The simple facts are that no matter what school you support, it is natural to trash other schools. If you want to trash the football team with facts, that is cool. If you want to trash the coaches or players, I really could care less. But, when you trash the very men and women that are part of te armed forces that fight and die to protect your rights to say these things, that is a NO_NO.

They play army better than you play sports expert----and they are expertly trained for thier job.

Thank you. I love talking trash to the LSU guys I work with now and the few UT fans left around here, but I don't ever bash an educational institution or the kids that are learning there, nor would I ever have a negative thing to say about their school specific traditions as it relates to academics. College sports, football and basketball primarily, are big revenue makers and they get everybody but the players rich that are involved in bringing the games into our living rooms. The athletics programs are free game. Just not the kids.
