I am at a loss...both State Champs in 3A from the same district...3 home games against 3 defending state champs this year...Pittsburg finished 4th in district play last year...virtually any other district would have put them in the playoffs...Springhill & Gladewater are real players...new coaching staff & on the build...Henderson returns a bevey of State Champ players and then...Carthage is Carthage...so this year, there will be some surprises. Gilmer will show a side that most have never seen and it will be http://clicksmilies.com/s1106/aetsch/cheeky-smiley-033.gif and http://clicksmilies.com/s1106/grinser/grinning-smiley-003.gif...to quote a Gladewater fan of years ago..."Those damn Buckeyes".....

Kind of the opposite actually. Were both tired of our jobs and looking for a fresh beginning.

My mom has lived there the last 3 or 4 years and really loves it there and we really like it when we go to visit so we finally decided to just do it and move.

I'm sure I could talk to Coach York and get some DVD's from him or something.

The Tyler ISD Athletic Director who was responsible for it left, search is on for his replacement, and it will be up to the new one if the Shootout would continue.
The Shootout used to be the 1st football for the season in East Texas if not the State with the Buckeyes leading off on Thursday night. There have been some good football played that week in the past. It will be missed...another tradition down the drain.

The Booster Club is working on some things...you should be able to follow the Bucks some way. Watch for new postings.

Nope...Atlanta was in The Shootout last year in Tyler...see my Beast posting...and we were Home Team. They would have been Home this year in The Shootout...now, we will drive to give them their spanking.

We know which is full at this very moment from years past..... Here's the real question.. Can the buckeyes change that? So really it seems that the Buckeyes are the ones wishing. Lol

We've only played Carthage twice in the past decade. They won both. How is that domination? Now, if they beat us again this year, you can make a case, but not until then.

A little friendly joking there howdy....

If Gilmer had won two in a row against Carthage don't act like you wouldn't be crowing about it because I know better than that.

You're probably right.:D It IS a big deal, ain't it?:D I just wish we could've played each other in '09! This has the makings of a budding rivalry between two very good programs.

No doubt that our '09 team would have taken them. That was a special bunch. Let's live it one more time:

If it makes you feel better, keep thinking that. The 09 dawgs would have scored every possession against the 09 bucks. The dawg defense would only have to get one stop (although I am sure they would have got more)!

I've never thought any run to a title to be a cakewalk. But congrats on your 09 powderpuff run in the playoffs. You were very lucky to go D1 that year. Its hard to say what Carthage will do this year, but I feel they will be more athletic on the offensive side of the ball this fall. I believe the biggest questions will be on the defense. Should still be a great game. Is it in Gilmer?
