to be happy! 830 million dollars being sent to texas schools to help in the budget crunch! how many jobs will now be saved? just saw the report on news 2 houston!

That's a start and will save a lot of jobs... but doesn't come close to covering what the house wants to cut ($7.8 BILLION)...

The senate votes next week on their budget bill which would cut roughly $4 billion from education. It also uses $3 billion from the rainy day fund.

You sure that's where it's going? That money's been locked up for quite some time b/c Perry wouldn't agree to the stipulation that it's be used 100% for education. Now that stipulation has been lifted, I find it hard to believe that he'd now agree to what he's been fighting against when he doesn't have to.
Im pretty sure that money is going to help close the deficit in general, not to education.
