Cuero runner, Buster Hansel came in 4th at Texas Relays with a personal best 4:19.05. That's a good time :)

This time also breaks the school record (Cuero High School) which was set in 1972. (Sammy Campos)
Buster also runs the 3200 and has run the last leg of the mile relay or 800M run - depending on circumstances.
Good Luck at District, Buster

I just thought I'd throw out some props to him.. The sprinters and hurdlers get talked about alot but distance runners don't get mentioned often.. We've enjoyed watching Buster run since 7th grade. He is good. :)

Good luck! If I remember correctly, Gobblers can run MUCH faster than most of the general population might think:D

He's never run the 3200, 1600, and 800 in the same meet...

I know that :) that's why I said DEPENDING on circumstances :) for example... at Gobbler Relays this year.. he was at an academic UIL Event and missed the 3200 and 800 so he ran the mile and the last leg of the Mile Relay. I think his "specialty" is the 1600, then the 3200... he is also a very good CC runner..

You cannot run the 3200, 1600, and 800. Only two multi-lap races are permitted in one track meet. I have watched track my whole life and I did not know that until last year thanks to a website called 3Adownlow. Some kid got DQ'd and we talked about it here.

Got word from Coach Owens today that Buster will run the 3200, 1600, and mile relay. He has gone 9:44 in the 3200 this year in spite of not running it much. 4:19 in the mile. 1:57 in the 800. He runs easy sub 50 splits in the mile relay. And he was second in the state cross country meet. Great kid and a great athlete.

He is going to A&M Corpus on scholarship.

I always use that time when the 3200 and 1600 are going on, to get my relay boys ready, or use the restroom.
