Ok here it goes for me and Sinton66

Is Zapata part of the Rio Grande Valley?

You said it earlier, the Rio Grande Valley ends at Roma.

But i'll simplify even further......any towns NOT in the counties of Cameron, Willacy, Hidalgo, or Starr are NOT considered a part of the Rio Grande Valley.

Last time I checked, Zapata is nowhere near Starr Co.

"A river runs through it". Technically, THE Rio Grande Valley starts at El Paso and ends at Brownsville. And trust me, out west, it really IS a valley. :D :D :D

Ok, but remember if the Yes wins, and by chance the Hawks win, you're going to have to get on here and say that the Pirates got beat by a valley team.LOL

I am sure there use to it, they really, really are out there by themselves.

I meant I wouldn't have any problem admitting it. Not like it's NEVER happened before.

I've been there before....there is NOTHING out there. I'd be bored to tears living there!

Make it 7-6 not in the valley. Only 32-3A teams are in the valley, next alignment might be different, but not this or years past. Zapata is 31-3A.

My vote no just put the no votes ahead. Rediculous - there is no way Zapata is part of the Rio Grande Valley. Just look at a road map and you can see. Plus Zapata is only 50 miles from Laredo.

I would say Zapata is in the sorta badlands border no mans land between Laredo and Rio Grande City. I consider Rio Grande City to be on the outer edge of the Valley.

I voted "No" it just seems too far removed from what I consider the Valley wink

I got to back up my gal on this one and vote "No". Zapata is not in the RGV. And unless the town decides to move southeast a few 100 miles then it probably never will be.

Hey footballgal, sorry I took so long. I just was accepted earlier today in this forum. As for the question:
NO, Zapata is not part of the Rio Grande Valley. The Valley begins at South Padre Island (Cameron CO.) and ends in Roma (Starr Co). Like someone said earlier, the Valley consists of 4 counties, the two i previously mentioned along with Willacy and Hidalgo counties. Someone said earlier that the RIO GRANDE RIVER technically begins in El Paso, that's FALSE, it originates in Colorado. Anyways, back to the topic, no Zapata is not part of the Valley!
