Only reason I know about him is he was born in Giddings and there is a field at one of the parks dedicated to him.

Very interesting that he pitched relief for Satchel Page, both finishing the last 5-6 innings for him usually and sometimes even imitating Satchel when Satchel missed games.

Also was instramental in Jackie Robinson's career.
