The Rangers announced today that their opening five-man rotation will be as follows:
C.J. Wilson
Colby Lewis
Tommy Hunter
Derek Holland
Matt Harrison
and Neftali Feliz will return to his role as closer.
I have mixed feelings as I really believe that Feliz could have grown a lot in the rotation this year and been at least as good of an option as Harrison or Holland while Alexi Ogando could handle closing duties. I understand that the bullpen has really struggled though, and I can see why Ron Washington would want Feliz in the bullpen so badly.
I'm just not sure that what they've got is a championship-caliber rotation. Hopefully Brandon Webb solves his arm issues and slides into a comfortable #3 role in early May.
