Which new schools (created in last 3 yrs. or added sports) will have the greatest impact on 3A athletics in the next 2 years?

Anyone heard if Krum is going to play football next year?

Yes, Krum should field a varsity team in 2012. Don't think they'll be 3a, though.

That's true--probably 2A. I guess I should have asked about new schools in all classes since there are probably only a handful in 3A.

Wilmer-Hutchins will be the Maceo Smith school. Should be about the same.

North Forney. No seniors and they have already made playoffs in Football and other sports.

Krum only missed 3A by about 20 kids last alignment so they certainly COULD be 3A...just depends on where the number is come next Feb. It won't matter though, they will be bad...they aren't even real competitive in basketball these days.

I think a lot of these new schools will be "just passing thru" several classifications quickly on their way to 4 and 5A. Particuliarly schools in Collin Co.

Still playoffs with 15-16 year olds.

Their season ended with a playoff loss just like Brownwood's.

New schools growth has obviously slowed...

Burleson Centennial 4A
El Paso East Lake 5A
Georgetown East View 5A/4A
Round Rock Cedar Ridge 5A
Bastrop Cedar Creek 4A
Rosenberg George Ranch 4A
Fort Bend #11 (Sienna Plantation) 5A

I think there's a couple of new schools in the Valley also...

With a 180 degree change in philosophy at Forney North, I wouldn't expect too much noise this year.

Eh they have no where to go but up. This new coach actually has experience outside of filming varsity games. If they're QB can stay healthy and not have to start a freshman they will be first or second in district.

The new HC will help in the next few years. But from my experience, going from the spread to a veer-based offense takes a few years to gel. It'll be like having an entire team of mature freshmen.

Melissa is fairly new (former K-8 school that opened a new HS in 2004) and should be on the 3A bubble in the next alignment. They've been good in just about every sport and went to state in basketball this year.
