Not major headlines, but another incident sure makes me wonder if Keith was right about Dez Bryant being more liability than asset for the Cowboys over time...sure hope not.

That's where I'm at, aussie. When the "man" asks you to pull your pants up---why not just pull your pants up? Whole lot better and easier for everyone involved. Maybe Dez should have broken a window like Chris Brown did backstage on GMA to show his "displeasure" after being asked about the Rhianna restraining order.

Dez suffers from a major flaw in our society today-disrespect for those around us. I don't care to know what color underwear you have on and I think that those that choose to constantly display them are only telling us to kiss their butts. Is it not amazing that a black President can wear clothes the way they were intended and the general black population chooses to wear their clothes below the butt. As my daughter says, "If they are gonna show me their butts, why not just not wear underwear so we can all see what a big butth--e they really are."

Disrespect is all it is and they don't even know what the origin of that style really was. In Texas prisons, the pants worn below the butt indicate the wearer is available.

I'm not defending anyone. I just asked a question, that you didn't feel a need to answer. No big deal. I will say this though. It seems to me that the only way the Demon Weed hurt Ricky was that it's an illegal substance. It certainly didn't seem to have any effect on his success otherwise. Seemed to me like he ran the football pretty well, even when he was on that "lazy tobacco". :p

You are correct that not all wear them that way--I even mentioned that the President, whom I don't care for, is one that does not.
However, walk into any high school in Texas and see what is the majority that wears their pants below the butt. As a matter of fact, look at the way they wear their BB shorts on the court during a game.

Yes, there are other races that do this to a minor degree, but black kids are in the majority and they are the ones that get most offended when someone ask that they pull up their pants.

As an adult, if I walked into an elementary school wearing my pants that way, I could be arrested for indecent exposure because it could be considered that I was exposing myself to a minor. But, these kids can get away with it because society has decided that it is better to ignore it than to "offend".

My boys were told when they were growing up that they would not dress that way out of respect for people around them. The one time one tried that, he was told that he could wear them right or face me stapling them to his waist. Never had another problem.

"According to the official police report, Bryant and three friends were stopped by the uniformed, off-duty officers working security shortly before 8 p.m. at the popular shopping center after they were observed "wearing their pants halfway down their hips exposing their underwear."

The police asked the men to pull their pants up.

"Mr. Bryant’s response to the request was profanity laced and [NorthPark] center representatives felt the outburst merited a request for Mr. Bryant to leave the premises," according to a Dallas police statement issued Tuesday evening.

"What the [expletive] are you stopping me, like I stole something," Bryant was quoted as saying by a News 8 source. "I'm not leaving until my attorney and my representative get here."

Police said Bryant continued cursing as the off-duty officers escorted him to his vehicle.

"Mr. Bryant entered his vehicle but parked in a fire lane still refusing to leave, necessitating a request for on-duty officers to respond to the location," the Dallas police statement said.

The police report noted that NorthPark has a history of problems with Bryant, including a "major disturbance" at a restaurant involving a woman, a parking violation, and cutting in line at the Apple Store."

Sounds like he thinks he can do what he wants wherever he wants just because he Dez.

I bet the security guards don't ban white girls from the mall when their pants that are halfway down their hips expose their thongs, crack, or panties.

Oh and no CBA means he can't be punished by the league or Cowboys organization.

Oh and no CBA means he can't be punished by the league or Cowboys organization. Why does everyone bring race into this? It's not about color, it's about dress code. It makes me no difference at all but someone else could be offended so it is their rules. The incident will be reviewed later. On that you can make book.

Regarding Chris Cook

"Chris Cook - DB - Vikings
Vikings CB Chris Cook was arrested Saturday evening in Lynchburg, Virginia, and charged with pulling out a handgun during a fight with another man.
As ProFootballTalk.com point out last month, the league office has no sway over player personal conduct and drug testing during a lockout. They "forfeit" the ability to discipline Cook, so he won't face a suspension. The NFL could attempt to punish Cook retroactively, though he'd have a strong case in dispute."

I think you are using ethnicity in your thinking more than anyone else involved in this situation is. The story stated that Bryant and his friends had their pants half off. How do you know one or more of his friends wasn't white? And how do you know the security guards weren't black? You are making assumptions based on racial biases. Unfortunately anytime a minority faces public scrutiny like this the race card will ALWAYS be played.

I go the other direction. Racism is completely natural and normal. It is a human trait to attack a difference when you become angry. It's even normal for most other species as well. Now using those differences as reason to discriminate is wrong. But we all recognzie a fat person, blond person, tall person, red headed person or any other distinquishing feature a person might have that makes them different than us. It's normal.

I don't think racially polarizing any issue ever helps in the long run. Any person who "sags" should be asked to pull their pants up, period.

I agree. I guess it's alright for someone to make assumptions about it being a racial issue, when in fact it's only a decency issue. I don't care what color of skin you have, if you break a rule you should be punished accordingly. If the mall has a dress code, ABIDE by it or face the consequences. It's a simple as that.

Persons who don't bathe don't cause harm to anyone, either. How many of them do you want to be around?

Everybody can claim discrimination if you want to carry it far enough. Asking someone to dress and act in a civil manner are standards which I think the majority of persons of all races would like to see maintained.

As an American you are free to shop wherever you like and not at a certain place because of how you dress. Looking at the malls website I did not find a dress code listed and I'm sure there isn't a listed dress code at the mall as well so that it is public knowledge.

If you come to my business and I don't like the way you dress or how you act I can kick you out. It's my place of business and I reserve the right to have in my place of business anyone I choose. It is not publicly owned therefore there are no "Shopping Rights".

The whole saggin thing started in the prisons and evolved from there. A lot of gang association with it, that is why the police care about it.

They don't need a sign posted to let people know what the dress code is. They have hired security guards to TELL THEM!

All this saggin pant talk got me to want to try it. So I did. I started off practicing in the privacy of my work lab. One thing I noticed right away is wearin' pants like that gave me the sensation of always needin' to spread my legs and butt to keep them from fallin'....made me walk kinda funny....anyway, after a little practice I decided it was time to venture out. So, I went out to lunch. About halfway to the car, I noticed a strange buzzin' sound behind me. I quickly turned around and holy hell, I was being stalked by giant horseflies, houseflies, knats, & honey bees. Not far behind and in the chase were the dung beetles on the ground! I got in my car as fast as I could. Left the parkin' lot a little bit frazzled but still managed to flip off all the bugs. That was pretty much the end of my saggin' pant days.....:(

Isolated I agree 100% but this is not the first problem he has had at that mall a pattern seems to be forming..nothing major but a underlying level of a entitled attitude is in him that needs to be dealt with

I covered him when I was in East Texas..he is very nice and for the most part very respectful but even in HS at times he had some issues like this

On camera he sounds like the nicest most sincere guy you would ever meet. In private incidents he seems totally out of control.

I dont think he is two faced I think he is just immature and implusive and that gets him into situations like the ones at the mall.

He has not learned to walk that line of being emotional and 100% full bore on the field and off the field thinking before reacting/talking

Discrimination? Are you serious?!?!?

Good grief! Sagging pants is possibly one of the absolute WORST fashions (and I use that loosely!) that have appeared in the past 50 years. It's absolutely idiotic to have your underwear hanging out on purpose. I was at a track meet a couple of years ago watching some guy in his (longer) shorts trying to RUN with half his butt hanging out! I was just sitting waiting for him to bust his ass so I could laugh at him. And he was not black.

You and your "that's racial" stuff.

Come to the Shreveport Boardwalk and wear your baseball cap backwards. You will be warned once by security to either remove the cap or wear it with the bill forward. The second violation gets you escorted from the premises. You cannot wear bandannas and you cannot make gang signals. However, you can sag and nothing is said. What a statement for dress codes and how strange they can be.

i was warned onetime for wearing my hat backwards on the boardwalk...the only reason i had it backwards was bc i had to chug a beer and i got in my serious mode and forgot all about my hat being backwards lol

IMO it sounds like Dez is struggling from lack of parenting...The mistakes he keeps making sounds like a lot of the same prob;ems high school kids have who don't have a good home life. With that being said he needs to get his act together so the boys can win another super bowl
