Why is it REAL cool to have midmajor conference 12s and 13s seeds take down 1's and 3's in the basketball tournement but they are never given the chance in football.

Its like there are two different organizations running the show.

Football is a different animal. Its much more physical. The smaller schools have almost zero chance of competing in football. In basketball, a team can have a great night shooting and play great defense and pull off an upset. In football, its hard to compensate for 50 pound differences in the trenches and slower players. Major conference teams play patsies all the time early in the year and its almost always over by the 2nd possession. Its a completely different scene.

Different organizations do run the show. You don't see bcs in basketball. The way bcs is designed, you can't afford to schedule too many mid level games because your strength of schedule would be too low and you don't have many games to waste. The small guys no matter how good they might be cannot get into the top 10.

So that is why Appalachian State cannot beat Michigan, Arkansas State cannot beat Texas A&M, TCU cannot beat Wisconsin?

It is because the Major Conferences and Bowl organizers don't want to give the mid majors a chance... it is about money.

It's sad they don't realize that a football tournament would easily surpass march madness as the premiere college event.

Big schools and conferences are scared they will lose money.
